Festivus in July, Fandom High front lawn, Friday afternoon

Sometime during morning workshops, when no one was paying nearly enough attention except those concerned, the Fandom High schoolgrounds had filled with snow.

For the record, "those concerned" meant Rory Gilmore and several dozen snow cone distributors from the mainland. But who wants to ruin the illusion? Students who were curious might assume that it was simply a Festivus in July miracle, or some such.

In the middle of the lawn stood a bare, aluminum pole. Festivus tradition, you know.

[Yes, the schoolgrounds have snow. I'm weathermodding and saying it's cool enough today through this evening for it to stick, and it'll melt overnight. And yes, we're having Festivus in July. For those not in the know, here is a handy Wiki link! ~~Please wait for OCD.~~ Up, yay!]

"I'm not going to eat faster if you look at me like that," Cameron snickered.

"How about like this?" Willow asked, trying for something more stern.

Cameron shook his head. "No, that's going to make me nervous."

"How about this?" Willow asked, smiling.

Cameron smiled back and started eating again. "Much better."

"Good," Willow said. "I wouldn't want you to get indigestion."

"I appreciate your concern," Cameron paused and eyed the food. "Maybe that's what they're trying to do?"

"If we eat all of it that probably will happen," Willow said, helping herself to another donut.

Cameron took another bite from his lateks and chewed thoughtfully. "So far, I haven't had the urge to stop eating yet."

"You can wait until you're full," Willow said. "I understand these things. Comes with being Jewish."

"Yeah, but what if we never will feel full and this food will let us believe we can eat more until it turns out that we actually can't?" This might be a real worry.

Willow thought about it.

"Portion control," she decided.

"That's kind of sad," Cameron sighed. You weren't supposed to ration food.

"It's part of eating responsibily," Willow said. This from the girl who hadn't seen a vitamin all day other than holding an orange in Constant Vigilance.

"Do we have to?" There might have been a slight whine in his voice.

Willow winked. "I won't tell."

Cameron laughed. "I like you. And taleks."

Willow grinned. "Thanks, Cam!"

"You're welcome," he chuckled. "I wouldn't want to upset you if you're going to keep my secrets safe."

"Or if you have a thing about your name being spelled right in official documents," Willow agreed.

"Remind me never to cross you," Cameron said quickly.

"Oh you'd never see me coming," Willow said with a bright and cheerful smile.

"They do say that you've got to watch out for the innocent looking ones," Cameron eyed Willow suspiciously.

Willow blinked, innocently.

"I think I need to go talk to principal Washburn," Cameron said, taking a huge bite out of his donut.
