Festivus in July, Fandom High front lawn, Friday afternoon

Sometime during morning workshops, when no one was paying nearly enough attention except those concerned, the Fandom High schoolgrounds had filled with snow.

For the record, "those concerned" meant Rory Gilmore and several dozen snow cone distributors from the mainland. But who wants to ruin the illusion? Students who were curious might assume that it was simply a Festivus in July miracle, or some such.

In the middle of the lawn stood a bare, aluminum pole. Festivus tradition, you know.

Shaking snow out of her hair, Callisto snagged a handful of loukomades. A large handful. Possibly half the plate.

"Callisto?" Peter asked slightly tentatively.

Callisto totally didn't try to hide the loukomades behind her back. "Yes?"

Peter paid no attention to the donut-hiding attempt. "Erm, not that this is really the time to ask," he said, still half-convinced that the snow was the beginning of an attack of some kind. "But could I possibly ask for my clothes back before next week? It's just that I don't have so many modern clothes." He glanced down at his Narnian outfit.

"What's wrong with your current clothes?" Callisto asked. "They look well made enough."

"They are," Peter agreed. "But they're not particularly suitable for this place."

Callisto furrowed her eyebrows and pointed to her armour. "They're clothes."

"They - " Peter cut off the rest of his response. Telling Callisto wearing them made him homesick wasn't going to do anything but make him look a fool. He nodded. "Didn't think it could hurt to ask. Thank you."

Callisto ~~feeling vaguely guilty due to narrative~~ offered Peter some of the powdered sugar-covered jelly squares she'd found. "Want some?"

Peter blinked at the Turkish Delight and swallowed hard. "Where'd you find that?" he asked, attempting to keep his voice on a reasonable pitch.

"On the table," Callisto replied, gesturing. "Big tinful."

Spotting the tin, Peter relaxed slightly. "Ah, I see. Then, no, thank you. They're not exactly as good as they appear."
