Festivus in July, Fandom High front lawn, Friday afternoon

Sometime during morning workshops, when no one was paying nearly enough attention except those concerned, the Fandom High schoolgrounds had filled with snow.

For the record, "those concerned" meant Rory Gilmore and several dozen snow cone distributors from the mainland. But who wants to ruin the illusion? Students who were curious might assume that it was simply a Festivus in July miracle, or some such.

In the middle of the lawn stood a bare, aluminum pole. Festivus tradition, you know.

[Yes, the schoolgrounds have snow. I'm weathermodding and saying it's cool enough today through this evening for it to stick, and it'll melt overnight. And yes, we're having Festivus in July. For those not in the know, here is a handy Wiki link! Please wait for OCD. Up, yay!]

Meanwhile, Sakurazaki (totally wearing her hat) had found a rather good place to hide behind, the type of thing where no one looking for you would notice but, the moment they did, your game was up. She narrowed her eyes slightly as she considered distance, projectile, air-speed velocity, and the density of her chosen missle. After all, long-distance weapons were not her specialty. Finally, she launches the snowball lightly at Jude's shoulder, watching only to make sure that it hit, then, stiffling a giggle, stiffens and tries to use her hiding spot as best she can.

Jude had been in the process of inching his box forward when the snowball impacted. The box teetered forward, teetered back, he flailed, the whole thing flopped over and he faceplanted in the snow.

"The person who threw that had better be cute or I'm gonna be totally harshed!" he called, crawling out of his box and standing, shaking out the "snow".

Squeaking slightly to try to keep from laughing, Sakurazaki launched another one, purpously missing and intentionally revealing herself. "Sorrrry," she grins. "I couldn't refuse an opprotunity of attack like that."

Jude just laughed. "That's okay, bra, I totally forgive you." He spread his arms. "C'mon, don't I at least get a kiss as an apology?"

Sakurazaki's face instantly went red, because, yeah. School event. Lots of people around. Her shoulders shrug up. "But if you've already forgiven me, why would I have to still give an apology?" Either way, she does plant a quick peck on his cheek...and then realizes that, hey, she's already there, and gives him a not-quite-so-quick kiss on his lips. Efficiency was important.

Which, according to the evil plan he had had all along, gave him the perfect opportunity to drop a handful of snow down her back.

After he got his kiss, of course.

Oh my God, COLD! Sakurazaki squirms in the attempt to pull clothes away quickly enough to shake the snow out of them before it melts too much and she's left with a very damp and cold back. But she laughs. "Why, you sneaky little..!" She takes a quick jump backwards, swooping down to collect more snow, and throwing another snowball before Jude can even blink. Okay, so he might have been able to blink, but the quickly launched missle should splatter him pretty good across the chest.

And it did. Jude shivered, but he was beaming. He considered his options. Snow wars were, of course, second nature to him. She could probably get him on the snowball front, so he went with the next best thing - a pouncing tackle.

Sakurazaki half-expected (half-hoped?) that a tackle would be his tactic. She could have avoided it. She could have done so with incredible ease, and could have even avoided it in a way that she could have completely reversed the situation and tackled him in response....

...but she doesn't.

"Muahaha," Jude gloated, pinning her to the ground and twirling an invisible moustache. "Now I haf you joost vhere I vant you!" He scooped up a handful of snow and held it over her menacingly, grinning like a mad thing.

Chuckling lightly, Sakurazaki allows herself to play a good victim, squirming a little. "Noooooo! You fiend!"

But it's not like Sakurazaki's never been held down against her will like this before. She deftly executes a move that's particularly easy because of Jude's lightness, grabbing his arms and flipping him (carefully) over herself to the ground above her head. This still causes the snow he'd been threatening her with to fall, but she's unfazed as she then pulls herself up, flipping over him expertly so that now she's the one that has him pinned. "Ha!" She holds him down with one hand against his chest while the other mercilessly picks up snow and sprinkles it on his face.

Jude made a face and spluttered, twisting this way and that but not really making an effort to get away. "And I would have gotten away with it, too, you meddling kid!" he grumped with a gigantic grin on his face.
