Lying and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them, Class #3

"Hello!" Jarod waved to the gathered students. The bandage was gone from his head, but the stitches were still visible. "Today we'll be learning about how to keep a secret, and I mean a real secret here, one that someone's life is depending on, by telling the truth."

"The kicker here is that someone will be asking you questions, trying to find out what the secret is. It's your job to answer their questions as completely as possible, but to still keep that secret. Then you'll switch. You'll each pick a secret of your own, and write it down on a piece of paper before you start. Then, your partner will write down what they think the secret is when they're finished, and show it to you. I'm trusting you to tell them if they got it right."

"Also, please feel free to have some coffee, juice, fruit, and bagels," he gestured at the table behind him.

[ooc: No Jarod until 6 pm EST, pair up and have fun!]

"Really? How so? Do you secretly have wings?" Parker grins. "That would be cool. But I assume it's something anyone could find out about you, then, if you weren't careful all the time?"

Weird. He knows someone with that. "Yeah that would be a fun secret though. In my oppinion. Mine is... not fun."

Parker studied him, and carefully said, "You don't have to answer, but is it physically painful? Your secret?" She was guessing it wasn't something mental, like River, or Bridge, because he'd be better at this game if it was.

"Not really. It doesn't hurt." Other than my pride... ugh... nothing is more painful to the male pride than becoming a GIRL.

"But it is physical, and unique to you; hard to conceal, had it for a while..." Parker paused. "It is some form of mutation, then? Some way your body reacts, or changes, that you're trying to deal with? That must be rough."

[identity profile] ranma-sao.livejournal.com 2006-07-25 05:45 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah... that's it. Man you're good at this. I always pick classes I'm not good at to improve but everyone in them seems so good at them..."

Re: Class Assignment

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-07-25 05:50 am (UTC)(link)
Parker grinned. "The trick is not to ask yes-or-no questions," she said, having some mercy on him. "Things that people have to deny or explain are easier. So, should I guess the specific mutation, or do you want to go back to asking me questions for a while?"

[ooc: and I go to beeed! night!]

"I think you're close enough. I'll just show you if you have a water bottle or something and you want to know." He sighs. "I'll try again on you though."

Re: Class Assignment

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-07-25 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)
"A water bottle?" Parker blinked. "And fire away."

Re: Class Assignment

[identity profile] ranma-sao.livejournal.com 2006-07-26 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
"Err... nevermind the water then... It's not important." He looks a bit exasperated. "Okay so... does your secret only include you?"

Re: Class Assignment

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-07-26 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
Filing that away and trying to make sense of it, Parker absently says, "No. Why a water bottle? Would iced tea work?"

Re: Class Assignment

[identity profile] ranma-sao.livejournal.com 2006-07-26 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
"Uhh... I supose... It would make me a bit sticky. But sure. Dump it on me. I'll probably take a shower after anyway."

Re: Class Assignment

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-07-26 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
Parker's intrigued enough to grin, and hold up her iced tea. "If you're sure." She up-ended her drink over Ranma, and waited expectantly.

Soon after the tea soaks him, his appearence changes. His hair changes to a bright red and his anatomy is noticabley that of a girl's. He sighs sightly and tries to get some of the tea out of his hair. His voice as he speaks sounds higher pitched like a girl's would. "See it's not exactly an easy secret to hide."

"Holy hell. So much for any swimming you might do this summer. That's got to be a bitch to dress for." Parker blinked at Ranma wide-eyed, then grinned. "So it's not a pill, or a spell, you just-- change gender when wet? How the heck do you shower?"

Re: Class Assignment

[identity profile] ranma-sao.livejournal.com 2006-07-26 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
"No it's not like that... It's a curse. Long story but... when I'm hit with cold water I turn into a girl. Hot water changes me back. Setsuna made me go to that 4th of July beach thing in this horrible swimsuit..." He shudders.

Re: Class Assignment

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-07-26 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm sorry to hear that." Parker tilted her head, studying him, and said, "You're very cute as a girl? But that does sound like an uncomfortable problem. Is there any way to break the curse?"

Re: Class Assignment

[identity profile] ranma-sao.livejournal.com 2006-07-26 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
Ranma wants to die at being called cute as a girl. "Yeah.... I gotta find this special pond in China. I will go find it someday." He doesn't really want to mention the fact that he had an oportunity to un-curse himself with Bel's little teleporting trick but for some absurd reason didn't want to go. He's still a bit worried by the connotations of that choice...

Re: Class Assignment

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-07-26 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
"That sounds fairly simple, at least. No double-binding loopholes about never knowing true happiness." Parker smiled. "And it's your turn to ask questions. Unless you want to give up for now?"

Re: Class Assignment

[identity profile] ranma-sao.livejournal.com 2006-07-26 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
The bit at the start makes him laugh. "Sorry. No I don't. I got side-tracked. Okay so it's not just about you... does it include a friend or your family?"

Re: Class Assignment

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-07-26 01:14 am (UTC)(link)
Parker smiled lightly. "Family. The other curse I was thinking of was Angel, who graduated in May. A vampire cursed with a soul. Rather complex and extremely frustrating." She paused. "So was the curse."

Re: Class Assignment

[identity profile] ranma-sao.livejournal.com 2006-07-26 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
"Most curses are. I try to... ignore it. Sorry about your friend. I have one like that." John Connor he wants to say. Ugh that guy... "Family huh...Is it about your parents?"

Re: Class Assignment

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-07-26 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
"No." She paused, thinking. "No. And I try to stay as far away from magic as I can, not being able to work it at all. The most I've done is make sand move a micrometer with my mind. And I still think Bridge might have been helping."

Re: Class Assignment

[identity profile] ranma-sao.livejournal.com 2006-07-26 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh and I'm not very fond of magic or anything either. Curses and things like that aren't good to me you know?" He recalls two other curses of sorts that effect him and tries to smile. Turning into a cat and having hair that grows endlessly are relatively harmless. But certainly inconvinent. "So... someone else in your family... then is it some relative... like.... a grandma or aunt or something?"

Re: Class Assignment

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-07-26 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
"A relative, yes." She tilted her head, smiling. "Persistence is good in this. You're doing better, I think."
