Careers Fair, Fandom High Front Lawn, Friday Afternoon, 07/21/06

By lunch time, the booths were set up, the guests had arrived and there was quaint music playing from somewhere undetermined. Hawkeye is walking around with one of those portable microphone/speaker set-ups, roaming from booth to booth announcing the various guests that have come to Fandom to talk about their professions.

And despite what the mainland weather forecast said, it was definitely a nice, fine day.

Xander's not intimidated. At all. Okay, so this guy is taller than anybody who's ever beat him up before except maybe those chicks from the Sisterhood of Jhe, and his face doesn't look like it's actually capable of smiling, and he's Bridge's boss, which when you like your job as much as Bridge does is almost like going home to meet the parents, but why would any of that be intimidating?

"Hi. Sir." He doesn't try to salute, even though the memory of how to do a proper U.S. military one is pretty clear in his head. He knows he'd mess it up somehow.

"It's... good to meet you." If he sounds a bit gruff, it's because he... kind of is. But that's normal. He does stick out a paw hand for a handshake, though, as is polite.

Xander shakes his hand with only a moment of hesitation, and that's about omg adult authority figure important to Bridge, not omg giant blue paw that could so totally crush my hand. Mostly.

"You too. You're... taller than I was expecting." And... frankly he was expecting pretty tall.

Also, Xander gives a small sigh, mostly of relief, because believe it or not, there are stupider things he coud've said.

Goofy grin? Still there as Bridge kind of bounces from foot to foot as he watches the handshake.
