Photography [7/19]

Veronica might have appeared more subdued than usual when her students arrived this morning.

"Morning," she said. "I hope you all remembered to wear old clothes. Today we're going to learn the process of film developing." She gave them a handout and briefly went over it.

"Okay, I think you're ready to hit the darkroom," she said, forcing a smile. "I'll be here if you have any questions."

Once they were finished developing their photos, Veronica let them wash their hands and then instructed them to take seats in the classroom again so they could brainstorm their prompts for next week before dismissing them.

Parker facepalmed again. "They did that the time Cam got dumped by Vala. Alcohol and good cheer and sleeping in my extra room. I swear, if they could get along just *half* as well when they were sober... it wouldn't be nearly as entertaining." She grinned. "Send me a copy of that photo? Please?"

Veronica hit a few buttons on her phone. "Done," she said. "And yeah, what's up with them? Cam was bitching to me about Jack just last week."

"God, who can tell? I suspect it's because Vala stayed friends with Jack while she was dating Cam. And you know Jack flirts with *plants* if they encourage him, never mind girls he already had sex with. Never mind their boyfriends too." Parker rolled her eyes. "And Jack just has to push it. Because he's got a warped idea of humor. They were snarking at each other last week during Jarod's class too." She grinned gleefully over the photo on her phone. "Oh, I think I need to frame this. Definitely."

Veronica tilted her head. "Do the plants actually have to encourage him? Because I was pretty sure flirting was more important to him than breathing," she said.

"It's a symbiotic thing. He breathes, he flirts. He flirts, he breathes." Parker paused, arrested by a sudden thought. "Of course, he also tends to flirt in his sleep, so, yeah. I'm thinking consciousness may not be actually necessary."
