Detention - 07/15

As the students entered the Danger Shop on this lovely silent morning (Miho hasn't noticed any difference yet), they found four desks set up in a semi-circle around a teacher's desk, upon which sat a freshly-baked blueberry pie and a sign-in sheet. Miho sat behind the desk, looking prim and disapproving. On the wall behind her was a large blackboard. On one side of the board was written in large letters, DO NOT TOUCH THE PIE. On the other side was a list, which Miho crossed off as the students entered.

Nadia didn't try to sneak. The ninja had nothing about whether she could hear you go for the pie. Just that she'd better not see you move.

She could freeze easier if she wasn't sneaking, really.

Miho turned toward Nadia and stared.

Nadia froze, possibly more from fear than anything else.

She stared back.

Miho waited a few seconds to make sure she got her message across before turning to face the board again.

And Nadia immediately went back on the move. She was almost to the pie.

Miho turned to look at her again before she could reach it. She enjoyed making them work for it.

Nadia froze again, mentally cursing as her nose started to itch.

Miho waited for what might seem like an inordinately long time to someone trying their damnedest not to move to, say, scratch an itchy nose. Then she turned away again. My, this blackboard was fascinating, wasn't it?

Nadia frantically scratched her nose and started forward again.

Almost there. . . . That'd better be damned good pie.

Miho was getting bored with this, so she glanced over her shoulder one more time, quickly, then back at the board as if to say, 'Get on with it.'
