Detention - 07/15

As the students entered the Danger Shop on this lovely silent morning (Miho hasn't noticed any difference yet), they found four desks set up in a semi-circle around a teacher's desk, upon which sat a freshly-baked blueberry pie and a sign-in sheet. Miho sat behind the desk, looking prim and disapproving. On the wall behind her was a large blackboard. On one side of the board was written in large letters, DO NOT TOUCH THE PIE. On the other side was a list, which Miho crossed off as the students entered.

Under each other. Don't touch the pie. The pie has a purpose.

Once everyone had arrived, Miho erased the list and wrote, Red Light Green Light Objective: Reach the pie without my seeing you move. First one there gets the pie. She looked at her students to make sure all of them understood how this was going to work, then turned to face the board.

((Obviously, she is not going to stay turned around forever, so try not to take rampant advantage of my sleepingness?))

Once someone had won the pie, Miho erased the entire board and wrote, Staring Contest Objective: To not blink. Pair up. Winners face one another, losers face one another. Winner of winning bracket faces me. Then she settled back to watch and wait.

Whoever won the pie might share it, otherwise the students are getting cold peanut butter sandwiches, carrot sticks, and water. What? It's food! Nutritious food, even.

After lunch, Miho erased the board once more. Quiet As a Mouse, Still As a Rock Objective: To be quiet as a mouse and still as a rock. The winner gets a prize. Miho held up the prize then settled back in her seat to throw chalk at anyone she deemed to not be quiet and still enough.

Miho erased the board yet again. This was her favorite game. TAG Objective: To not be found by the teacher. Be as quiet as possible. When I find and tag you, you are 'out' and may leave. If you are obviously not trying, I will ignore you. You will have one minute to disperse.

Miho reached for the Danger Shop remote and punched a button, and the classroom melted away to be replaced by a black and white street that might be familiar to some of these people. Oh, yeah, the students are now monochrome, too. Miho made a show of closing her eyes and beginning to count on her fingers. One, two, three, four...

You're done. Go home. Try not to get your hearts ripped out.

bugofjustice. Credit for lunch goes to a field trip I took in junior high, where we went hiking in the cold all day and had the lunch described above, while the younger kids back at camp had spaghetti and brownies.

Nadia signed in. Silently. As you do.

Peter signed in. He was quiet as a mouse that could not squeak.

I'll be slow due to work for a few hours. *wanders off*

Sam signed in, far more quietly than he had ever done so before.

Brair signed in, a little pissed.

Nadia wasn't actually terribly familiar with this game, but considering the fact that the ninja was facing the other way, figured it would probably be pretty easy.

She started for the pie.

Peter was surprised. It wasn't "Red Light Green Light I Shoot You With Arrow Light." He mouthed this surprise and blinked when he didn't hear the joke.

"This has got to be one of the weirdest detentions ever," he mouthed silently as he moved forward on the green light.

Briar had been a thief for six years and had managed to get caught only three times. Sure, it's been four years. He was still able to sneak along fairly well. When he wasn't yawning.

Nadia had been a thief for five years six months ago and had only been caught once. So she stuck out her foot to trip Briar.

Miho turned around and glared at Nadia and Briar.

Miho turned around and arched one eyebrow questioningly at Peter.

Nadia froze while trying to look innocent. She was beginning to understand this game.

After talking - or not talking - to Dean whis morning, this was just about the last thing Sam wanted to be doing. But he figured he'd get into more trouble for nor trying, so he waited for Miho to be turned around for a few seconds before sneaking towards the pie.

Briar stumbled and glared back at Nadia. He then made a series of gestures that he wanted to convey You go from that side, I go there, and we can split the pie?. The message may have gotten a little scrambled in translation.

Peter froze in mid-silent word. He wasn't moving a muscle.

If Briar wanted to do something that dirty, he was picking the wrong day to ask.

And yes, Nadia had, apparently, very much interpretted the gestures wrong. Hers back to him was pretty universal, though.

Briar shrugged and continued trying to sneak up to the pie. More for him this way. ~~You didn't see anyone confuse their characters, nope.~~
