Summer Picnic, Main Campfire, Friday afternoon

At lunchtime, the campfire area was set up with blankets, baskets, picnic tables, food, and ant problems. The groundskeeper who brought the ants was later sent home for the rest of the day. It turned out that he didn't really like picnics.

[OOC: I suck and completely forgot about this. Sorry about the relative lateness. It's a sunny and fairly comfortable day. I MOD WEATHER! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!]

"What if the bear hates me too?" Cedric asks, moving a hand down to brush at the top of Jack's hair. "Inanimate objects versus Cedric. I can see it now."

"It's Izzy's bear," he explained, closing his eyes and relaxing under Cedric's touch. "I don't think it could hate anyone."

"True," he concedes. "How've you been, then? Everything going well?"

"Yeah, pretty well. After the trip to Mexico, I'm just glad to be back." Jack opened his eyes and smiled up at him. "Which reminds me of something I have to ask you about."

"You'll have to tell me about Mexico," Cedric says quietly. "When you're ready. We didn't get that far last time I saw you. And what did you want to ask me?"

"I want to tell you about it. We just got a bit...distracted when I got back." He grinned, remembering. "Not that I'm complaining. Have you ever been whitewater rafting?"

Re: The Blankets

[identity profile] chasingsnitches.livejournal.com 2006-07-14 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
"I...have not," he says, trying to recall ever hearing about whitewater rafting before. "I'm guessing there's water, involved?"

"I haven't either," he admitted. "But it should be fun. Big inflatable rafts and a very fast river. I think getting wet is inevitable. Izzy's planning a trip one weekend - two days rafting with a night of camping in the middle. It'll be Parker and Jarod, Izzy and Greg and I'd like you to come, too."

He laughs quietly and says, "That sounds interesting. I've never thought to raft a river for fun. I think I like the way it sounds."

"Hey, I'll be there - of course it's going to be fun," he laughed, but it died away. "There's just one more thing, and it's entirely your decision, but I'd like to invite Sam as well. Keep in mind it would probably be the three of us sharing a tent if you say yes."

Re: The Blankets

[identity profile] chasingsnitches.livejournal.com 2006-07-14 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
"That's..." He doesn't know exactly what that is but he tries anyway. "I wouldn't say no to that. It might be awkward for a time but I don't see it being a problem."

Re: The Blankets

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-07-14 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
"Are you sure? I'm not suggesting anything more than sharing a tent, in case you're wondering. And I don't ever want to do anything that would make you uncomfortable," he reached for Cedric's hand and kissed his palm, "but Sam could use some good memories to balance out the bad ones."

"No, no, I know you weren't," Cedric says immediately. "I know you wouldn't do that without asking me first. I apologize if I implied that. Sam's a friend of mine too, Jack. And...she deserves to come along. I know about bad memories."

"Thank you," Jack said sincerely. "I figured you'd understand. And I know you weren't implying anything, but it is me," his grin took a turn into wicked, "so I thought I should be absolutely clear about what I was suggesting."

"An outdoors slumber party," Cedric says, giving it a name. "And really, Jack, you can be innocent too."

All right, that might be tinged with a small smile and a quiet laugh.

Re: The Blankets

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-07-14 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
"Exactly," he agreed, then stared up at Cedric, very perplexed. "What do you mean?"

Re: The Blankets

[identity profile] chasingsnitches.livejournal.com 2006-07-14 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
"I mean what I said." He meets Jack's eyes and smiles again. "I've seen innocence in you. It's an attractive quality. Along with everything else."

Re: The Blankets

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-07-14 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
"Hmmmm." Jack tried to frown and look offended, but he was having a hard time maintaining it. A huge smile kept trying to escape. "I'm with you on the attractive part," he said as he sat up, leaning forward until his nose touched Cedric's. "But innocence?" And he kissed him, deep and firm, tongue darting out to touch his lips. "That I'm not so sure of."

"I beg to differ," he mumbles, quite content to be kissed. "Should I prove it to you?"

Re: The Blankets

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-07-15 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
Jack raised a dubious eyebrow. "You think you can?" And his hand found it's way under the edge of Cedric's shirt, to stroke the skin above his hip.

Re: The Blankets

[identity profile] chasingsnitches.livejournal.com 2006-07-15 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
"I could..." He trails off, smiling at the touch. "Try. I could make a list!"

Re: The Blankets

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-07-15 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
Both Jack's eyebrows shot up. "You think," and he kissed him again, lingering to nip gently at his bottom lip, "you think there's enough examples you can make a list?" His hand crept to rest on Cedric's stomach as he leaned over him.

Re: The Blankets

[identity profile] chasingsnitches.livejournal.com 2006-07-15 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah," he manages to say, nodding quickly. "A good list. We could frame it and put it next to the plant."

Re: The Blankets

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-07-15 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
Jack had to laugh. "Yeah, okay. A framed list." He kissed the corner of Cedric's mouth, then the edge of his jaw, before lying on his side next to him, his hand still splayed across his stomach. "The plant will laugh itself sick."

Re: The Blankets

[identity profile] chasingsnitches.livejournal.com 2006-07-15 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
"I'll get started on that project as soon as possible," he laughs and covers Jack's hand with his own. "The plant will be jealous that I didn't make it it's own list. And hate me some more."
