The all too familiar opening chords of Europe's The Final Countdown sounded and after a short delay for dramatic effect, GOB danced out onto the auditorium stage. He pulled blue and gold handkerchief chains out of both sleeves (which was difficult with a hand still in a cast) until the chains clearly met in the middle underneath his shirt. A large burst of smoke appeared on stage and when it cleared, the handkerchiefs had turned into two cages of doves. One of the doves fell over in the cage, choking on the smoke.

Over the next couple minutes he disappeared cards, linked and unlinked rings, and made his cast say "GO GREMLINS." It was slightly more impressive than should normally be expected from GOB.

When the music wound down, GOB stepped up to the microphone. "Welcome, ladies, gentlemen, and others. Today you will witness the finest example of amateur talent you have ever seen. Unless they suck. If they suck, you should make sure they know they suck. Not just today. Boo them this weekend, too. They'll deserve it for making me a liar."

"Anyway, let's hear it for today's acts!"

Joxer nodded. "I was half expecting people to throw vegetables, so I was really happy when they didn't."

"I think others deserve to have vegetables thrown at them much more than you do," Kaylee said.

Joxer set down his lute. "I don't suppose I could get a congratulatory hug, could I?"

"Of course you can," Kaylee said, moving closer so she could hug him.

Joxer hugged Kaylee tightly, and kissed her on the top of the head.

"If it hadn't been so raunchy, I would have dedicated the performance to you," he said. "But it people might've gotten the wrong idea, so I didn't want to sully your reputation."

"Someday, you'll have to serenade me," Kaylee said with a grin.

Joxer nodded. "I swear, I know more than just the one song," she said. "I'd love to serenade you sometime."

Kaylee smiled. "We could even go to Caritas and sing a song together."

"I'd like that too," Joxer said, smiling. He pouted suddenly.

"Don't suppose I could get a little something more than a hug, could I?"

Kaylee leaned closer to kiss him.

Joxer leaned in to kiss Kaylee, and imagine that, they did. Joxer was doing his best to get better at the whole kissing thing, too.

And, thankfully, he had not yet the nerve to slip Kaylee some tongue.

Kaylee noticed that Joxer was better at the kissing thing. Not that he was all that terrible before.

Joxer pulled back and smiled. "Thanks," he said with a doofy grin. "What're you doing tonight?"

"Not sure yet," Kaylee said.

"Don't suppose I could tag along?" he said, not realizing she hadn't given a decisive answer.

Kaylee smiled. "Tag along where?"

"Erm, wherever you go?" Joxer said. "I just like being with you, so I'm not picky."

"I wouldn't mind if you followed me around today," Kaylee said.

Joxer smiled and nodded. "Wherever you go, I'll go," he said. "Erm, unless you have to, you know, then I'll wait outside, because that wouldn't be right, for me to... yes."

Kaylee just shook her head. She may have even laughed.

Joxer took off his helmet and tried to tame his hair.

"So, where should we go?" he asked.

"I guess we'll have to see where we end up."

"So, we'll just wander off in a random direction?" Joxer asked. "I can do that."
