The all too familiar opening chords of Europe's The Final Countdown sounded and after a short delay for dramatic effect, GOB danced out onto the auditorium stage. He pulled blue and gold handkerchief chains out of both sleeves (which was difficult with a hand still in a cast) until the chains clearly met in the middle underneath his shirt. A large burst of smoke appeared on stage and when it cleared, the handkerchiefs had turned into two cages of doves. One of the doves fell over in the cage, choking on the smoke.

Over the next couple minutes he disappeared cards, linked and unlinked rings, and made his cast say "GO GREMLINS." It was slightly more impressive than should normally be expected from GOB.

When the music wound down, GOB stepped up to the microphone. "Welcome, ladies, gentlemen, and others. Today you will witness the finest example of amateur talent you have ever seen. Unless they suck. If they suck, you should make sure they know they suck. Not just today. Boo them this weekend, too. They'll deserve it for making me a liar."

"Anyway, let's hear it for today's acts!"

"Last time I had to wear a costume I just ended up wearing my jumpsuit... which was such a copout I'm so not doing it again," Cally said. She tapped a finger on her chin. "I'm thinking something sexy. Something that'll get some attention." from you, hopefully...

"When I think of costumes, I usually end up in a wig and glasses." Nadia shrugged. "Maybe we should just get dressed up? I don't have any masks, or anything."

"Could always make a quick stop by All and Sundries," Cally said.

"That's true."

"We could always, you know, just... do something else, if you don't want to bother."

"No, it sounds like it could be fun. We could go shopping and then to a party. What girl doesn't like that?"

"Good point," Cally said. "Shall we get ready together, then?"

"It's practically traditional." Bad. Badbadbadbadbad. "What kind of sexy outfit were you thinking of? ~~You'd look great in a pink wig. . . .~~"

"I have no idea," Cally said. "Something colorful, just to shock people, I think. Maybe a neckline that's waaay too low, too."

"I'm sure we could find that at All and Sundries," Nadia said, thinking of how Edmund had reacted when she'd been there wearing little more than an orange apron. "And the shock factor is always fun."

"The only problem is that I own none of the above," Cally said. "The only thing I have with color is my orange homecoming dress."

"Thus, shopping. You want to meet up at All and Sundries? I need to put my guitar away."

Cally nodded. "See you there," she said with a wink.
