The all too familiar opening chords of Europe's The Final Countdown sounded and after a short delay for dramatic effect, GOB danced out onto the auditorium stage. He pulled blue and gold handkerchief chains out of both sleeves (which was difficult with a hand still in a cast) until the chains clearly met in the middle underneath his shirt. A large burst of smoke appeared on stage and when it cleared, the handkerchiefs had turned into two cages of doves. One of the doves fell over in the cage, choking on the smoke.

Over the next couple minutes he disappeared cards, linked and unlinked rings, and made his cast say "GO GREMLINS." It was slightly more impressive than should normally be expected from GOB.

When the music wound down, GOB stepped up to the microphone. "Welcome, ladies, gentlemen, and others. Today you will witness the finest example of amateur talent you have ever seen. Unless they suck. If they suck, you should make sure they know they suck. Not just today. Boo them this weekend, too. They'll deserve it for making me a liar."

"Anyway, let's hear it for today's acts!"

Sam put his head down, muttering very inappropriate things about Dean under his breath. "I am never singing at Caritas, ever, ever again."

"Awww. Don't say that too loudly, or someone might hear you and make it their mission to have you sing," Chloe said, laughing again. "Has anyone ever told you you're cute when you blush?"

If anything, that just made Sam blush harder. "I've, um, heard that a few times, yeah." The earth could swallow him at any time, and it would be fine, really.

Chloe figured that minor torture deserved to be followed by a proper introduction. "I'm sorry. I'm Chloe, by the way. It's nice to meet you."

"I'm Sam," he replied. "Embarrassing remarks aside? It's nice to meet you too."

Chloe snickered. "You're the one with the friend who looks like Alec, right? I remember he sang right before you did."

"Actually, that's my brother, Dean," he corrected her. Not that Dean couldn't qualify as his friend most of the time, but it was just different.

"Just out of curiousity, he's not psychotic and homicidal, right?" Chloe asked nonchalantly, grabbing a few more pieces of popcorn.

To Sam's credit, he only had to pause for a few moments before he figured out how to answer that properly. "Uh, only if you're a demon or a ghost. And exceptions have been made to that since we've gotten here."

That wasn't quite the answer Chloe was looking for, but it was better than a simple "Yes."

"Dare I ask where that question came from?" Sam asked casually.

"Well, you see, I used to know this other guy who looked like Alec and your brother. We all thought he was a nice guy until he went crazy and tried to kill my best friend's parents," Chloe explained. "So, I've just been making sure that people who look like him don't act like him."

"Wait," Sam said, eyes widening. "You mean there's a third person who looks like Dean out there?"

"Well, not anymore," Chloe said, looking a bit too happy about that. "Jason made the mistake of trying to kill my best friend's parents during a meteor shower, and karma got him deus ex machina style, in the form of a meteor to the head." ~~And then Jensen was free, yay!~~

Sam had to smirk at the look on Chloe's face. "So, that worked out well then?"

[I've got to go to lunch. I'll be back a little later.]

"My friends and I agree that everything worked out the way it should have," Chloe replied.

[That's fine. I should go get lunch too.]
