"Good morning, everyone," Jarod smiled, standing in front of a row of small two person sailboats. "I hope you all read the information I gave you last week, because you'll need it. These boats are suitable for one or two people, but unless you have experience sailing already, I'm going to require you to take a partner, and a paddle, just because sometimes there's no wind, and you'll want to come back to shore."

"For those of you who want to do more than just sail," he smirked, "I've set up some buoys as an obstacle course so you can practice your tacking and navigation. Just remember your rules of the road so you don't run into each other." He gestured out to the ocean, to a line of red dots bobbing in the water. "Also, don't go beyond the red buoys, just for your own safety."

"If you need me, I'll be out on the water in a kayak with a rope, ready to tow you in if necessary. Have fun, and I've had a great time being your instructor."

Pippi rigs up her adorable little boat.

She's a little concerned about the lack of space for booty in this thing.

"Pippi!" Molly called and skipped over to her. "Can I go with you?"

"Molly!" Pippi waved. "Of course!"

"Yay!" Molly said and then stood up straight and saluted. "Just tel me what you need me to do, Cap'n Pippi."

Pippi pulled down the rigging she had done and started over from the beginning so Molly could sse and help with it all.

"So how've you been?" she asked as they worked.

Molly followed whatever directions Pippi gave her as she answered. "Pretty good. A lot better than last week. Things are getting back to normal now." She didn't sound quite as cheerful when she said that, but it was probably because she was concentrating on getting the rigging done right.

Having done this last week, Parker rigs up her sailboat pretty well. Then starts eyeing the obstacle course.

This was something Archie could do, no problem. He rigged his sailboat with ease and looked over the obstacle course. In between this and the prospect of leaving for a weekend vacation right afterward, he was a happy, happy boy.

"If anyone needs a sailing partner, I'm glad to oblige," he called out.

"I'll race you around the course, once you're ready?" Parker offered. "Although you'll probably win...." She tried to look sad. Sad, sad.

Archie laughed and saluted her. "Now that, my dear Miss Parker, is a challenge I can't refuse. Though in consideration of my greater experience, I feel I ought to provide a handicap."

Parker's sad!face dissolved into glee. "How much of a head start?" She climbed aboard her sailboat, and turned to face him. "And if you win, I'll buy you a drink at Caritas."

Isabel looked up and grinned. "Me? Please?"

"Isabel! I'd be honored to have you aboard," Archie said with a gallant flourish.

"Wonderful," she said, stepping through the sand to the boat. "What do you need me to do?"

Archie gave her a quick ~~handwavey due to slow computer~~ demonstration of her duties as copilot and took the tiller. "And most of all, keep an eye on Parker over there," he grinned. "I'd like to collect on that free drink."

"Aye Captain!" she saluted. "And don't worry about that drink. If she's not buying I will, just to say thanks for the ride."

Isabel took her seat and pulled the line tight, smiling in delight as the sail filled. "And we're off!"

Parker waved to Isabel. "Kennedy and Evans vs. Parker! You get a chocolate shake, if you guys can beat me!"

"What? Do they even serve chocolate shakes at Caritas?" Isabel asked. "Keeping to the safe drinks? So I don't hug you again?"

Parker chortled, her laugh drifting across the water to them. "Jack would *kill* me if you got drunk again and he missed it. We'll save the shots for when he's back. Besides, it's not going to happen. Archie's offering me a handicap."

"Are you kidding?" she laughed. "He'd be grateful he wasn't in the danger zone. And I don't think I'll be repeating that experience any time soon." Isabel shook her head and grinned. "Handicap or not, we're still going to win."

Pippi called over from the boat she and Molly ~~who is modded as silent sailing partner with permission~~ were sailing.

"Hey! Can we get in on that action?"

"Sure!" Parker laughed. "I've got a head-start, since I'm alone and I haven't done this before. You okay with that?"

Jaye looks really disappointed that she can't stay on the beach. But she goes to a boat anyway.

Remember what happened the last time he got his hands on some rope?

"Uh . . . little help here?" he asked plaintively, one arm at an awkward angle over his head and his foot in the air. He had somehow managed to tie himself to the mast.
