"Just because it's out last lesson doesn't mean I'm going easy on you," Callisto said, pointing to the lockers. "Clothes and shoes."

"Now that we've got that out of the way," Callisto said. "Today's class is going to be something of a test, to see how well you actually listened to me over the pst few weeks."

Callisto picked up a large piece of paper. "Now, somewhere in this preserve is this person." She turned over the paper. "Your mission, should you want your shoes and clothes back, is to use the skills I've taught you to hunt down and capture... this kid with doofy hair. Because unless you've brought him back here by the end of class? I'm keeping your stuff. Have fun."

Callisto made shooing motions with her hands. "Well, what are you waiting for?"

So, if I were a psychotic blonde intent on amusing herself at my expense, Parker thought, where would I hide one geeky guy with weird hair?

Hmmmm.

Checking her map, she looked for a ca ve, or a stand of trees to tie Greg to, then considered the terrain, looking for 'clues.'

Joxer was following Parker.

In a way in which he hoped he didn't look like he was following Parker.

Parker stopped, looking annoyed. "I can hear you, you know."

Joxer jumped. "I wasn't trying to be sneaky," Joxer said with a huff. "You shouldn't jump to conclusions, you know. I'm following the trail of the weird-haired guy. You just happen to be on the right track too, that's all."

Parker gave him a look. "Do I have to push you in a sand pit, Joxer? Or are you going to let me find him and not mess it up? Careful how you answer. I can always come back and rescue *you* for extra credit."

"I never mess anything up," Joxer said, somewhat hurt.

Parker sighed. "Right. Okay. Let's go." She turned off down the trail, then struck out toward the Rocky Bits. "Keep your eyes open."

Joxer nodded. "I'm watching the forest like a hawk," he said. "No way anything could get past me. Nope, nothing at all."
