Documentaries 101 (Workshop #7) - A/V Room, Tuesday Morning
Silent Bob looked sad. His very first attempt at teaching, and it was over now. He hoped he had done well. He hoped no parents were going to sue for sexual harassment. Although Jay had done admirably well around the girls. When he wasn’t bored out of his skull or playing with exposed wires, that was.
But he cheered up as soon as the girls arrived. No whiteboard today, just computers and editing and playing with the projection system to get it to work the way he wanted it to while he helped them out. And, about halfway through the class.
"Hey! I brought popcorn and chips and shits!" Jay entered the scene, laden with bags and waving a videotape. "I also found some funny shit we can watch if your documentaries suck!"
Silent Bob sighed, rolling his eyes. He affected a stern look, holding out a hand for the tape. Knowing Jay, it was 'Playboy's Best Bukkake' or something like that. Jay grinned, holding it over his head. "Nah, lunchbox, you ain't gettin' this from me. Man, your momma really loved you or somethin', 'cause there's tons of footage of Little Tons o' Fun on here!"
Bob pounced for Jay and the tape, his eyes wide. Junk food went flying as Jay fled, Bob on his tail. A short, nasty, vicious chase and fight ensued, resulting in Jay dancing his 'come, son of Jor-El!' victory dance and Bob folding his arms and scowling.
Then? It was showtime.
Alright, my ducks. I have no basic math skills. Remember last week when I said that the lessons got mixed up because I had an extra week that I forgot about? Turns out I was right the first time! And today is your last day – sadness. So I apologise for my mental mentalness and I wholely blame work. So last day! Yay! Half editing, half display. I really should have worked out a syllabus beforehand. Ugh, I feel dumb. And like a nap. Mmm, naps . . . And class is late, to boot! I'm really on top of things today.]]

Edit!
Re: Edit!
The Show!
Re: The Show!
Which ends up being half-artistic with several weapons demonstrations and half-informative with her "interview voice" narrative interspliced with her interviews creating a cohesive narrative between the background information she'd gathered on the different weapon styles she's featured.
"The most common and rudimentary form of fighting is done with the hands as weapons, a skill accessable by man from the moment we first discovered that they were there." Her footage of Pippi battling a robot Tim (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhighdorms/683336.html) with excellent exposition on her motives supplants this theme, along with a basic narrative regarding hand combat.
"And then man found iron, and with iron, swords, training, and form." Nifty historical images of warriors and footage of herself (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhighdorms/677993.html?thread=43973481#t43973481) and Peter (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhighdorms/677993.html?thread=43861609#t43861609) doing demonstrations back Sakurazaki's babbling about swords, which goes on significantly long ramble, because, yeah. Swords. Her interview with Peter (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhighdorms/683336.html) and a subtitled segment of herself discussing their weapons is also an important part of her info dump.
"In our desire to find effective means of fighting, several unique approaches have been found." This is where the short blurb from Silent Bob (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhighdorms/677993.html?thread=43973481#t43973481) (Jay's explative editted out, of course) about his own unique weapons surfaced (Sakurazaki has researched it and she was initially reluctant to include it, but then she found a small sampling of information regarding certain drug-induced Buddhist training rituals that she includes to correspond with it), but most of the attention is spent on Walter and his wires (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomtownies/937141.html), because it's super cool, especially the total Matrix jump shot (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomtownies/937141.html?thread=37449653#t37449653) she got.
"Societies have made incredible turns from when weapons were first introduced as tools for survival; while the turn of events may be lessening the need for traditional weapons like swords, there will always be a use for them, as seen in the advent and dependance in modern society on the gun." This is where Sakurazaki makes her appeal to why fighting is just so damn important, topped off with a truly inspiring speech from Professor The Tick (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh/914497.html?thread=46103873#t46103873).
The credits roll to her
handwaveyMiho footage and very cool dramatic fighting music.[[all little casual parts of interviews and demonstrations, with with perhaps Pippi's because the whole thing was casual, are editted nicely out, of course.]]

He applauds madly.

Which is met with a wince and uncontrolable blushing.
