Introduction to World History to 1600 (Terran)
Friday 1:00-3:00 pm

Early, Seimei glides in and settles at his table. His eyebrow raises at the room and with an enigmatic smile, starts to compose the discussion question.

When finished, he taps the handle of his brush against his chin and rises to display it for the class.

Discussion question –

What was one of the key hallmarks of Eqyptian culture?

In smaller script beneath the question is the following:

To show you’re paying attention and for extra credit, work in the phrase “my hovercraft is full of eels” into your comment.

One of the key hallmarks of their culture was their affinity to different deities for different things. They show Ra as driving a chariot across the sky with the sun because my hovercraft is full of eels and it was just too heavy to lift into the sky.

The key hallmark of the Egyptian culture was their advanced word. Such examples being a novel by King Tut entitles my hovercraft is full of eels

The Egyptians made more progress in the area of funerary procedure than any culture previous, and perhaps comparatively, ever since. They mummified many of their dead, which in the conditions must have been more difficult than dealing with modern day situations, like "there is a body in the truck, and my hovercraft is full of eels."

I don't think I know the heiroglyphs for "my hovercraft is full of eels". Though Ghostwheel did find me this: http://www.omniglot.com/language/phrases/hovercraft.htm
also:
http://www.redhillconsulting.com.au/blogs/simon/
and:
http://www.livejournal.com/users/demiankatz/

So that is that, so far.

Their architechture was a key hallmark, such as the pyramids. Although some (http://www.livejournal.com/users/the_ascended) say that they were built by pyramids. But he's announced that "my hovercraft is full of eels" before, so I don't know how much you want to put faith in what he says

even if it's all actually true

Well I'd certainly say one of their crowning achievements would be those ridiculous structures they made. After all, it's not often a civilization manages to dream up something the requires so much human labor and suffering. ^_^

Though they certainly never said such things as "my hovercraft is full of eels".

"They liked big architecture. Um, and their mythology is based around the Nile a lot--their creation story, like, describes the yearly flooding, basically.

"It would have been a lot shorter if they'd just had the gods say 'my hovercraft is full of eels,' but much less interesting, too."

[identity profile] threeweapons.livejournal.com 2005-09-17 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
They had extremely large pyramids that were used to preserve dead bodies. Which is better than preserving them in hovercrafts because my hovercraft is full of eels.

*slides into a seat and reads assignment*

"My hovercraft is full of...eels?"

*laughs hysterically and pulls out his book to try and answer the real assignment question*
