Danger Shop - Detention [6/24]

As the students enter, the Danger Shop appears to be a mostly empty room with a half circle of chairs in the middle.

The focal point of the half circle is a large white board which has a list of names on one half. The other half is covered at the moment.

Belthazor
Marie D'Ancanto
Timothy Desmond
Walter Dornez
Tyler Durden
Kaylee Fry
Phoebe Halliwell
Charles Kawalsky
Jamie Madrox
Setsuna Sakurazaki
Nadia Santos
Stark

Once everyone has arrived, Veronica begins briefing them.

"I don't know what you guys did to earn detention today and frankly, I don't care. Today we're going to solve a mystery and you're going to put someone else's well being before for your own."

She uncovers the other half of the board, which has a list of information about a missing girl, including a physical description.

"The girls' parents believe she has run off with her boyfriend and don't want to involve the authorities. It's your job to find her."

Now this would be a little more difficult that just basic ninja-ing. If she had her sword, no problem. Slice the ropes and slip out. But she didn't have her sword. Time for more conventional methods.

Sakurazaki pokes her head out of the shadows for just a motion, to let the girl know she was there with a look of "i'm gonna rescue you" and a finger pressed against her lips to ask her to please remain quiet. Then she slips back into where the key shadows are and begins to untie the ropes. It does take her a while; knots were not good.

But she can get them quietly, she can get them in a way that she can hide in the shadows and make them look undisturbed should the enemy come into the basement.

And there was a small window that the two of them could easily slip through. What kind of kidnapper keeps his victim in a seperate room? Honestly! But she's not complaining too much as she helps the girl through the window, quickly follows after her, and then leads her to safety.

Or so the plan is.

Okay, so she wasn't in the bedroom, and it took Nadia some extra time to search the rest of the house. She did find the girl, though.

And thankfully, Nadia had her leatherman on her. She cut through the ropes, then looked around for a way out that wouldn't involve wandering back through the house.

There! A basement window.

A basement window that's been painted shut.

Her leatherman would be getting a workout, today. She gestured for the other girl to keep quiet and started carefully working the knife attachment between the edge of the window and the sill.

Bel shimmered into the basement. He saw the girl and easily broke the ropes binding her. If she tried to scream or anything he'd just clamp his hand over her mouth, of course, and then shimmer out with her.

Kaylee breathed a sigh of relief when she finally found the girl. The relief changed to horror and frustration when she realized the girl was tied up. Kaylee didn't exactly have a knife on her.

She spotted a glass of water on the table near the bed. She then broke the glass, trying not to alert the suspect. Using a shard of broken glass, she began cutting the ropes.

Now came the part where Kaylee had to get the girl out of the house without the suspect knowing. Life would be a lot easier right now if Mal and Zoe showed up with guns. Climbing out the window seemed like the only option, though, so that's what they did. Yay, freedom!

Walter made a hushing gesture when he came in and cut the ropes off of her. From there, he followed the established precedent of escaping out the narrow basement window, boosting the girl out ahead of him.

"Don't talk," Tyler cautioned the girl. He used his pocket knife to cut through her bonds, then helped her to escape through a basement window.

He'd found the girl. Yay. Stark made an apparently universal "shh" gesture and got to work on the ropes. Once again, Shop class came in handy. A Swiss Army Knife was always in one of Stark's pockets. That made getting the ropes undone much easier.

Now, how to get out? The open window seemed like the best option, so through the window they went. This was by far the easiest time he'd ever had freeing someone.

Yeeeah so unlike his counterparts, Kawalsky didn't notice the window. He was too focused on getting the girl released and thinking of a conventional way out.

He managed to get her to be quiet as they crept up the stairs and got as far as halfway across the den when Aaron tackled him out of nowhere. "RUN!" he yelled and Madison, being the good little lapdog she was for once, did so and got out of the house.

Kawalsky, meanwhile, had to duke it out with Aaron until the simulation stopped.

Not quite a successful end, but productive nevertheless.

Sailor!Jamie? Quick with the hands and luckily Macho Man can be stretched out.

He's gone with the goods before Aaron even realizes it.

Tim jumped the last few steps into the basement floor, still in socked feet. He held a finger to his lips. "I'm Tim Desmond I'm here to rescue you.

It took a bit to untie the knots, but soon he was boosting her out the basement window. In the process of this she stepped on his head. In the high heels she'd managed to keep on.
