Rory curled up behind the desk, alternating her attention between a copy of the summer newsletter and a list of things to remember for the shower that evening.

"Yep," Willow said. "Makes us a magnet for vampires, demons, and all sorts of nastiness. Including a school system that favors PCs over Macs. 'nuff said."

"Ew," Rory said, wrinkling her nose. "I wonder if we have a Hellmouth here. There tends to be lots of bad stuff."

"Ours was under the library," Willow said. "Which, again, does make sense given where we had the weapons storage."

Rory looked dubiously at the floor.

"I've been wondering about that too," Willow admitted.

"If there is a Hellmouth, can't we just get anti-demon spray or something?" Rory speculated.

"If there is a Hellmouth, fortunately we have Buffy," Willow said. "Granted a Buffy who I don't think even knows what a Hellmouth is but as far as I'm aware she's still a Slayer so hopefully that'll work out well for us."

"She wanted to slay Vladdie," Rory said woefully.

"No!" Willow said. "Then he can't do news reports and go arf arf arf!" Willow did her own version of high-pitched, adorable puppy barking.

"I know!" Rory said. "I have absolutely no idea what he was trying to do on the radio, but he meant well."

"He sounded very eager to inform," Willow said. "I felt that if I knew how to speak puppy I would've known a great deal about the school."

"He's often very informative. He has an invisible friend who I think is coming back, and he sits and chats with him quite often," Rory told her.

"Oh how sweet," Willow said. "I don't think Amy has any invisible friends. Then again if she did I'd probably be very, very worried."

"Well, Vladdie's friend is real. His name is Steve," Rory said. "I thought he was just delusional, but nope, only puppies can see him. John saw him when he was a dog."

She paused. "Who's Amy?"

"My rat," Willow said. "Well, I don't know that I'd call her mine. It seems presumptuous. But I take care of her."

"Ooh, a rat! How cute!" Rory said. "Like a pet rat, right? Not a rat you just found and decided to domesticate?"

"A rat who definitely needed someone to take care of her and make sure nobody tried to kill her or set her on fire," Willow said since, well, that was true. "I try to make sure she's got a nice home. I keep giving her new Habitrail things to play with."

"Does she have one of those rolly ball things? Cal's baby squid has one. They could roll around and go on adventures together," Rory suggested.

"Oh! No, but I should get her one," Willow said. "She loves her little wheel, so I'd imagine the ball would not be a huge adjustment for her."

Willow's mun noticed the time. "Yipes! Must go. I have plans that must be put forth in timely, organized fashion or else my spreadsheet will be for naught. Which would be very sad, much though I like using the word 'naught' in a sentence."

"Oooh. I'll have to use 'naught' at some point today," Rory decided. "Have fun with your very organized plans!"

"We could make a weekly goal to use one new, nifty word in sentences," Willow said. "Well, not new to us, but new in the sense that it's not the word we used last week. I bet Herminone would love it too.

"Anyway, thanks! Have fun Nutmegging!" Willow waved on her way out, carefully cradling her books with her other hand.
