There are drinks set out on a folding table near the unlit campfire, and a couple of baskets filled with apples, oranges, and bananas, because sometimes you have to balance out all the doughnuts/twinkies/s'mores, after all. There's also a cardboard box at each end of the table, as yet unopened. Xander is standing in front of the table handing out cups.

"You'll probably each want something to drink, because I'm gonna make you talk, and some of you might be the type to get dry throats when you do this kind of talking.

Last week we looked at one specific job someone might have on a team; this time, we'll go with a skill that can be useful for anybody when you're trying to support your fellow Scooby-types -- or your flashy superpowered leader, if you have one. I figure we'll probably switch back and forth between those two things each week for most of the workshop, and look at putting them together towards the end.

So what skill comes in really handy when you're trying to investigate a crime, stop the bad guys, rescue the princess or otherwise save the day for goodness, justice, puppies, and truth?

The ability to lie your ass off.

I know that sounds kind of contradicty, like 'jumbo shrimp' or 'bad pie,' and some of you guys may not be down with bending the truth until it squeaks, but the fact is that sometimes you' might have to, at least for a while. You may need to cover for your friend with the secret identity, or your entire group that just cut class to go slay ~~vampires~~ dragons, or yourself, if you're in the wrong place at the wrong time. And hey, maybe you'll get lucky enough not to need it -- but it's a skill you should have, just in case."

"Um, two?"

"Right first time. No home to write back to."

"I'm sorry." Z knows the feeling.

Lana shrugged. "What can you do, right?"

Hm. All the statements could easily be true. All could just as easily be false. Nadia took a wild shot in the dark. "Um, two."

"Yep."

Nadia did a little victory dance.

Lana grinned at her.

"Let's go with number two as the lie." Blair bounced. "I'm sure you were too busy with workshops and work to be writing home."

Lana laughed. "Right answer, wrong reason."

"Um...three?" he says "What's a s'more?"

"Nope. I actually did that. And s'mores are these toasted marshmallows on melty chocolate between graham crackers. Really good. You should stop by and try them sometime."

Shiro guessed primarily becuase he had no idea what a s'more was.

"Three."

"Nope. We made s'mores just the other night."

D remembered Lana from cheerleading try-outs and gave her a smile. "Ummm, three maybe?"

"Nope. Made s'mores just the other night. Had to introduce Bel to them, you know?"

"I haven't made s'mores since way back in the fall. Two, then?"

"Correct. No letters home."

"Uh, one?" Bridge guesses randomly.

"Nope. Sadly, I was late to work last week. Misjudged the time to get there from the camp."

"Um," Cordy said. "The letter home? That was the lie. Maybe."

"Yep. The letter home, definitely."

"Awesome," Cordy said with a grin.

"Nice job," Lana said with a smile.
