There are drinks set out on a folding table near the unlit campfire, and a couple of baskets filled with apples, oranges, and bananas, because sometimes you have to balance out all the doughnuts/twinkies/s'mores, after all. There's also a cardboard box at each end of the table, as yet unopened. Xander is standing in front of the table handing out cups.

"You'll probably each want something to drink, because I'm gonna make you talk, and some of you might be the type to get dry throats when you do this kind of talking.

Last week we looked at one specific job someone might have on a team; this time, we'll go with a skill that can be useful for anybody when you're trying to support your fellow Scooby-types -- or your flashy superpowered leader, if you have one. I figure we'll probably switch back and forth between those two things each week for most of the workshop, and look at putting them together towards the end.

So what skill comes in really handy when you're trying to investigate a crime, stop the bad guys, rescue the princess or otherwise save the day for goodness, justice, puppies, and truth?

The ability to lie your ass off.

I know that sounds kind of contradicty, like 'jumbo shrimp' or 'bad pie,' and some of you guys may not be down with bending the truth until it squeaks, but the fact is that sometimes you' might have to, at least for a while. You may need to cover for your friend with the secret identity, or your entire group that just cut class to go slay ~~vampires~~ dragons, or yourself, if you're in the wrong place at the wrong time. And hey, maybe you'll get lucky enough not to need it -- but it's a skill you should have, just in case."

Lying is what a Slytherin does best. Or that was what Draco liked to think.

1. My family with worth millions.
2. I got kicked out of my old school.
3. I've been viciously attacked by a wild animal before.

Blair stared at Draco for a minute. He seemed like a ~~republican~~ rich kid to him, and he stole his doughnuts last week, so he knew number two might be possible. "I think three is the lie."

"Nope. I got attacked by a hippogryff when I was thirteen." he said. He raised up his sleve to show Blair a long, shiny scar that ran down his forearm.

"Ouch. What's a hippogryff?" Blair asked.

"It's sorta...well, it's got a bird's head and a horse's butt." he says "And it's got talons."

"Um..." They all seemed pretty plausible. "Number three?"

Draco shook his head. "I got attacked by a half bird, half horse thingy when I was thirteen." he says, showing Lana a shiny scar on his arm.

"Oooh, that looks painful. Um... number two, then?"

"It didn't hurt too bad. ~~I only cried for like, two hours.~~ But two is the lie." he says "I wasn't kicked out of school."

"Good to know," Lana said with a smile.

Nadia didn't really know Draco at all, so it was a tough choice. And around here, she wasn't about to discount number three as being a possibility. "If number one is true, then your family could have bought out the school and you wouldn't have been kicked out, so number two would have to be false. And if number two is true, number one is false." This got her no closer to an answer. "I think it's . . ." Draco was a snazy dresser. . . . "Number two. You didn't get kicked out."

Draco nodded. "I didn't get kicked out of school. ~~I ran away before they could do that.~~" he says "Nice job."

"Woo!"

"Though I don't doubt for a second Fandom High would've let you in, I'm guessing two."

"Yep. You got it right." he says "My old school wouldn't kick anybody out. They're too forgiving."

"When were you attacked by a wild animal?"

"When I was thirteen. I got clawed by a hippogryff." he says. He lifted up his sleve to show Z the scar on his arm. "It's a half bird, half horse looking thing."

"Looks nasty," Z said, studying the scar.

"Two. Three is entirely possible in fandom and one isn't interesting enough to be a lie." D said.

"You're right. About everything. Being rich isn't that interesting. I still haven't gotten that pony that I've been asking for." he says, grinning.

"One. Everyone lies about money."

Draco smirked and shook his head. "My family is worth millions." he said "Just don't ask me how we got it. Cause I honestly have no idea. One of my ancestors probably betrayed someone else or something. That's how these things always start."

"Two," Bridge says with a shrug. He doesn't know Draco too well, but it seems like the most likely lie.

Cordelia studied Draco for a moment before answering. "The animal attack is the lie," she said. Because she is reaaaaally bad at this game.
