There are drinks set out on a folding table near the unlit campfire, and a couple of baskets filled with apples, oranges, and bananas, because sometimes you have to balance out all the doughnuts/twinkies/s'mores, after all. There's also a cardboard box at each end of the table, as yet unopened. Xander is standing in front of the table handing out cups.

"You'll probably each want something to drink, because I'm gonna make you talk, and some of you might be the type to get dry throats when you do this kind of talking.

Last week we looked at one specific job someone might have on a team; this time, we'll go with a skill that can be useful for anybody when you're trying to support your fellow Scooby-types -- or your flashy superpowered leader, if you have one. I figure we'll probably switch back and forth between those two things each week for most of the workshop, and look at putting them together towards the end.

So what skill comes in really handy when you're trying to investigate a crime, stop the bad guys, rescue the princess or otherwise save the day for goodness, justice, puppies, and truth?

The ability to lie your ass off.

I know that sounds kind of contradicty, like 'jumbo shrimp' or 'bad pie,' and some of you guys may not be down with bending the truth until it squeaks, but the fact is that sometimes you' might have to, at least for a while. You may need to cover for your friend with the secret identity, or your entire group that just cut class to go slay ~~vampires~~ dragons, or yourself, if you're in the wrong place at the wrong time. And hey, maybe you'll get lucky enough not to need it -- but it's a skill you should have, just in case."

"You're the one who is a personal friend of the King," Jamie pointed out. "You tell me. What's his cell phone number? We can call him right now."

"You can't call him." Shiro said as if that was painfully obvious, "have you ever tried calling Hell? Reception down there is shit. It is Hell, you know." His arms folded.

"Well then how are we supposed to know that the first statement is true?" Jamie asked. "For all we know the King of Hell is just someone you met once at a cocktail party."

"....."

Jamie had a point.

"He killed me." Shiro said, "becuase I was gonna mess with his chick. But she begged him to bring me back, so he did. After that I was kinda in debted to him and...aww, man, this sounds even more full of it then my original statement." He snorted. He shook his head, "Look, believe it if you want, or don't. The lie was that I get along great with my roommate. Like Lana said, noone gets along great with their roommate."
