Basketball game, gym -- 1:30 FHT Saturday

The other equipment in the gym has been moved out of the way, and it's finally game day. There are t-shirts for the blue and gold gremlins on each bench and a heavy air of expectation in the air.

Mostly, expectation that something will go horribly wrong. But it's expectation anyhow.

The referree blows his whistle and waits for the teams to gather around him. With a steely gaze, he tosses the ball in the air for Zack or John to grab.

John jumps up and tries to grab the ball. Doesn't look like he's gonna make it though. Damn that extra doughnut for breakfast...

After scowling at Zack making a shot, John takes the ball out. He dribbles in for a few steps before looking for someone to pass too.

Cameron's open so John shoots a quick pass over to Cameron. Cam catches it easily and fakes a shot before dodging towards the basket. He stops and looks for another teammate to pass it to.

Tyler took the ball and made a rush toward the basket, assessing the other team for weak spots.

Sawyer pops out infront of Tyler and swats at the ball, trying to get it out of Tyler's hand in to his own to make a shot for his team.

It was Conner's turn to get into the game. He took the ball after the shot and dribbled a little bit (he did remember to use his hands), looking for an open teammate.

Anders had just gotten into the game in time to snag the rebound. Luckily, he remembered to dribble out, and spotted Greg open on the court for a bounce pass.

Greg took the ball and dribbled upcourt just a bit before spotting Tyler and passing over to him, keeping an eye on defensive Gold players all the while.

Anders took the inbound for his team after the shot and did something highly inadvisable: namely, he decided to dribble along the baseline in his quest for an open teammate.

Unfortunately that wasn't really happening, so he threw up a desperation shot from somewhere under the basket.

Much to his disbelief, it hit the back of the rim, ricocheted off the backboard, and . . . actually dropped in.

John takes the ball out, dribbling for several long moment and looking at the basket.

He passes to Cam who passes right back.

John looks for someone else open.

Conner's open, so he jumps up and down to get John's attention.

Not being terribly used to actually using his arms in sporting events, he's waving them around in a way that would fit in better with the cheerleaders. All he needs are the pom-poms.

Peter grabbed the ball and took it out to half-court. He dribbled a few times while the other players set up then, nodding to Tyler, moved to the left to draw the defence and passed cross-court to his teammate.

Tyler easily caught the pass and decided to try to go for a quick shot before the Gold gremlins could react. He tossed the ball, and watched in disebelief as it whiffed through the air, barely touched the rim, and bounced away.
