Let's Play Tourists!, first period

Jon met everybody at Portalocity looking more than a little sheepish.

"First of all, I would like to apologize for last week." He grimaced and rubbed the back of his neck. "I...well, um. Never mind. Anyway, I apologize. This week we're starting in Paris." He handed them each a ticket for a tour. "It'll be a few hours, but...well, we've got portals, so. And you can choose to spend a little longer if you like."

He led them through the portal and over to where their "fun" guide was supposed to meet them. Jon was rather dreading whatever a "fun" guide was, but hopefully it wouldn't be too dreadful.

"I ain't even rode a bike yet." Caleb grumbled. "I'm usin' a heck of a lot o' self control not t' start grumblin' like an old timer 'bout technology."

Jon managed a chuckle. "I suppose I've got a bit of an advantage over you there. I'm merely uncoordinated."

"Seg...? Oh, seg-ways. No, this is at least a bit better. Though I'd have preferred to walk, honestly," Jon said.

"Good grief I am not doin' th' image o' th' American tourist any favors am I." He was pretty sure he'd mispronounced a French word in Paris, but he was also afraid to assume that it was French.

Jon shook his head. "I think so long as you're not rude, you'll be fine. Or, well, as fine as anybody is when faced with Parisians."
