Library, Thursday 4/23
Belle was in a more revealing dress than the library usually rated. But you never knew who might wander in. She might need to impress someone!
Perhaps someone mysterious!
Or someone from her past!
Or a disguised god!
Or a pirate captain with a heart of gold!
Or she might be alone with her novels and that would be fine, really.
She was meant to be shelving romance novels. She was mostly making a stack of books she wanted to read later. There were so many and she was learning so many things while she read the week away. Alone.
But again, anyone could walk through the doors at any moment! Perhaps the librarian might even come out of his office and...
And Belle suddenly needed some water.

Re: Talk to Belle
"Miss Belle, hello. No gremlin shenanigans today?"
Re: Talk to Belle
"No gremlins that I've seen today and I think that's for the best."
Nobody really needed to know what the gremlins were up to this week.
Re: Talk to Belle
"Hopefully they aren't layin' low to cause trouble." he said, trying to clean up his accent a bit. "But I don't believe I know anyone who's ever had cause to complain about too few monsters runnin' around."
Re: Talk to Belle
"And I wouldn't complain about a lack of them this week. There are much better things to complain about this week." She paused, and grinned again, a little wickedly. "Or perhaps worse things to complain about. I've done my share of complaining."
Mostly to herself.
Re: Talk to Belle
"Oh, so much." Caleb agreed with a laugh. "I'm not always very eloquent with my complainin' of course. It often just comes down to 'really?' and 'why?'. And I do that for real things and fictional stuff. I guess I do some eye rollin' and sighin' too."
He supposed his brooding out at the bay might count as complaining as well.
Re: Talk to Belle
"You needn't be eloquent," Belle said, stepping a little closer. "A sigh can be more than enough to express yourself, don't you think? Or other noises. Words aren't always necessary. Though I do love them, of course." She patted a small stack of books she'd set down moments before which had some rather suggestive titles.
"Have you had to complain much, this week? Or has it been going well for you?"
Re: Talk to Belle
Caleb did a double take at some of those titles. Did that really say...? He leaned a little closer to see, and may have blushed a bit, though he didn't back up.
"I've had worse weeks, but I can't say I haven't had better. Just now's a high point."
Re: Talk to Belle
"The top is my favorite," she said. Then pointed to the book stack for clarification.
"I've had much better weeks as well. Though you're correct. Things are looking up at this point. I do hope things continue to go well."
Re: Talk to Belle
"That one...oh my. Those romance authors do seem to love a pun." As did mystery writers, he'd noticed. "I like that she's the one holdin' the sword." He was used to the ladies in cover illustrations cowering.
Re: Talk to Belle
Another step closer. "Are you adventurous, Caleb?"
Re: Talk to Belle
His smile became a bit sad, a touch of caution entering his gaze. But he stepped just a bit closer himself.
"That's...not an easy answer just now." he admitted. "I've had the word adventure redefined for me a few times. But I confess I been feelin' a bit adventurous lately."
Re: Talk to Belle
"I was hoping I might find a companion for my own adventures today," Belle told him. "Perhaps we could adventure together? I've no plans after I leave here."
And she could leave here anytime. What, like Constantine was going to be upset if she left to pursue extracurricular activities?
Re: Talk to Belle
Re: Talk to Belle
Belle looked around the library, nodded to herself, and smiled slowly. "I think I can be done here now. The books will keep. Though perhaps this one ought to come with us. For...inspiration."
They might not need any but there were some quite exciting passages Belle would be thrilled to reenact given the opportunity.
She grabbed the book in one hand and reached for Caleb with the other.
"Although if we're about to embark on an adventure perhaps...a kiss for luck?" A warm up. Not that either of them likely needed any further warming at this point in the week.
