Fandom Library, Wednesday, February 18th
Immediately after radio yesterday, Arden had vanished to her room and hid, refusing to talk to anyone (and, yes, spending plenty of time singing to herself). Today, she had ventured out to the library, replete with snacks and drinks just in case it seemed like it was starting up again and she needed to quickly cram her mouth full.
Overkill? Possibly. Worth it?
Definitely.

Talk to the Aide
Re: Talk to the Aide
"Okay so how often does th' singin' happen? Also, hi Miss Arden."
Re: Talk to the Aide
"Hey there, Caleb!" she said with was smile. "No singing! And if any happens, I'm prepared." She showed him her arsenal of snacks. "And just Arden, please. I mean, I appreciate the politeness, but we're friends right?"

Re: Talk to the Aide
She looked around. "Whyyyyy don't you grab a chair. This is gonna be a doozy."

Re: Talk to the Aide
Arden waited for Caleb to get back with his chair, setting out some snacks and stuff for him since, you know, this was going to be a lot.
"Sooooo," she said, once he'd gotten himself situated. "Singing seems to happen about twice a year, maybe? Once usually in December where we end up singing holiday songs, and then another one like this one, where we just sing our feelings and it's the worst. You've dealt with honesty day, and then there's also the day we, ah. All turn into ponies."
And it all goes downhill from there, Caleb!
Re: Talk to the Aide
So turning into an animal? Why not?
"Ponies? That's...I dunno that sounds so specific. Not horses, ponies."
Re: Talk to the Aide
What was the difference? Vibes, mostly.
"Uh, so that usually hits everyone, but sometimes people can just change into animals randomly," she continued. "It seems to go around and hit multiple people at once, but no one can figure out who and why. Like, I think I turned a bird around the same time Professor Vess turned into a cat and I think the guy that works at Pick Your Poison turned into a flower or something. It's weird and there are, like, no obvious connections that anyone can figure out."
Truly, who could say.
"And then there's the weekend most people turn into little kids. Just a bunch of, like, seven year olds running around."
Re: Talk to the Aide
“With th’ other animals, are they special too? Or just ordinary?”
He wasn’t sure how he felt about turning into a kid again.
Re: Talk to the Aide
If he didn't like possibly being a kid again...
"So, there's also the weekend when we get kids. Different kids from any possible future. They show up on Saturday morning and you've just got...kids to take care of. They might be kids with people you've met on the island, or with people you know from home, or with people you've never even heard of." She was so sorry to have to break this to you.
Re: Talk to the Aide
"Oh boy. That...given my condition that seems particularly scary."
Re: Talk to the Aide
Aw, yeah, double sugar.
But first he was peering suspiciously around the door like singing might jump out at him.
Re: Talk to the Aide
Not as good as Cinnabon waffles, though. (Obviously.)

Re: Talk to the Aide
She just definitely pictured Raiden as the kind of guy who sang whenever he had a chance. It was probably the golden retriever energy.
