The castle from last week was still in the library, but now it was somehow suspended, upside down, from the ceiling. Arden was ignoring it. She had also been ignoring the gremlins dueling one another with foam swords, but that had led to a little bit of a mishap.

Which was why Arden was busily affixing fake flowers to the gremlins, a bite mark visible on her hand, murmuring, "If the rose is knocked off your chest, you lose the duel."

Sometimes these things just happened, okay? Don't worry about that, just focus on the baller song playing pretty much on repeat all day.

Caleb had set himself a bit of an independent study project for Cinema Studies and came in to hopefully talk to Arden about it but just about everything going on left him almost as baffled as the shark movie had.

"She...seems busy."

He didn't know what the little boogers were but they weren't pinging his curse and weren't paying him much attention so he opted to set to his research.

The music was pretty baller as far as Cal was concerned, but his sense that something was wrong was overpowering his desire to do a little dance. "Hey Arden," he said, looking around. "Are you in the castle?"

Hey, she liked being up high, it was a valid question.

It was and before Arden had become the Rose Bride, that had been a thought lurking not-so-deeply in her subconscious. Now, however, she was much taken up with her duties as the Rose Bride. Which meant standing off to the side, eyes downcast, two 'roses' in her hand (a plastic tulip and a cloth gardenia) while one of the gremlins held forth. For those who understood gremlin, he was delivering a stirring speech about the revolution of the world.

To everyone else, it was just weird gremlin noises. And then pointing at Cal in a clear challenge.

Well, this was either going to be something they both laughed about later, or something he made sure to never bring up again. "Hey, just saying hi," he said with a wave. "I don't suppose the lovely lady can come with me?"

BD-1, on the other hand, scrambled off of Cal's back and stood in front of him in equal challenge, saying some very unkind things in droid basic.

Okay, the gremlin did have to take a step back at that diatribe there. He hadn't expected that kind of language from a little droid, wow.

"I am the Rose Bride," Arden said, very helpfully. "I must do as the current champion Duelist, Gremlin-sama, bids."

Originally this was going to just be Arden ignoring the upside down castle, the dueling, and the music, but then I asked myself, "you know what would be REALLY funny?"
