Luau, The Main Campfire, Friday evening

The main campfire had been turned into a tropical paradise... without the tropics. There were leis and grass skirts to wear, tropical music playing, a buffet table, and the infamous Limbo Stick of Destiny, an artifact brought back to America from World War II. Noody knows what happens when a person wins a limbo competition involving the Limbo Stick of Destiny, but several experts on the subject suggest that "absolutely nothing happens except maybe you win a little trophy."

It was party time at the Fandom High Summer Camp.

[OOC: OCD is up. Yes, there is pig, poi, and sometimes the band will switch from generic tropical music to 60's beach movie music, or maybe reggae, or Raffi. They're unpredictable like that.

The luau takes place during a long break in the rain that fh_weather is reporting. Yes, I'm modding the weather. Admin privilege.]

Z found herself a spot near the fire and settled down to enjoy a lovely beverage containing pineapple juice. Maybe this outdoors thing wasn't that bad after all.

She didn't notice the mosquitos nibbling on her ankles until it was too, too late.

Z smacked at another little bloodsucker. "I think I hate nature."

Parker toasted her with her drink. "Here here. If I don't have to use a gallon of OFF again this summer, it'll be too soon." She sat down next to Z. "But at least we'll be back in the dorms soon. Yay, bathtub!"

Parker raised her eyebrows over her coconut-shell drink. "Yes? I had it installed when I moved in, first semester. The joys of a private suite. One of them, anyway."

"Wow. I share with that Temperance girl. Who is not Amish. And I haven't actually shared with her yet because she got here kinda late. We lack a bathtub. But I am so, so not complaining."

Parker blinked. "I complained to *get* the bathtub. Well, and my dad paid a lot of money. And possibly built them a sauna and jacuzzi room. You like sharing a room?"

Parker blinked at Z. "Okay, way to make me feel over-priviledged. Good job." She cocked an eyebrow. "I'm glad you have a bed now? Although, I still think a bathtub is something to push for."

Parker shook her head. "No, for what? I *am* glad you have a bed. And you didn't overshare. I just don't know what to say after that." She perched her chin on her hand. "And now you've been warned I'm dreadfully spoiled, in some ways. But if there's ever a bathtub emergency, feel free to ask about mine."

"Oh, definitely," Parker said dryly, but smiling. "'Cause those happen so often." She closed her eyes, and smacked her forehead. "And now there will be one. Watch."
