Luau, The Main Campfire, Friday evening

The main campfire had been turned into a tropical paradise... without the tropics. There were leis and grass skirts to wear, tropical music playing, a buffet table, and the infamous Limbo Stick of Destiny, an artifact brought back to America from World War II. Noody knows what happens when a person wins a limbo competition involving the Limbo Stick of Destiny, but several experts on the subject suggest that "absolutely nothing happens except maybe you win a little trophy."

It was party time at the Fandom High Summer Camp.

[OOC: OCD is up. Yes, there is pig, poi, and sometimes the band will switch from generic tropical music to 60's beach movie music, or maybe reggae, or Raffi. They're unpredictable like that.

The luau takes place during a long break in the rain that

Jamie snorts in laughter. "Good one. You wouldn't be related to a guy named Guido by chance?"

"Guido? Um, no."

"Sorry. Buddy of mine from back home, he's a real card."

Sam eyed him suspiciously. "It's not nice to make fun of people, y'know."

"Seriously, he is. He's like my best friend back home. Enjoys torturing me on a regular basis. For instance he changed my application form for Fandom High to say I was a female."

"How's that working out for you?" She snickered.

"Well I got Nadia Santos as a roommate," Jamie said, "And that's turned out pretty well. She's pretty cool."

"Yeah, I like Nadia," Sam said. "She's fun, but I think she hasn't had an easy time all the time. Not completely sure what happened, though."

"Yeah... she's told me a little bit about her life before she got here. Makes what I've gone through like something out of the funny pages," Jamie mused.

"Poor kid," Sam shook her head sadly, then remembered who she was talking to. "Er, she is really a kid, right? Not an adult in a kid's body?"

"No. She's a kid," Jamie laughed. "I think I'm the only one around here who got shrunk in the wash."

"Nope," Sam said, raising her hand. "Me too."

"Say what?"

"Yeah...I might have left that part out of my explanation before..."

"Yeah... I think I would have remembered something like that. So what happened to you? Evil science experiment gone horribly wrong?"

"Cloning," Sam said, a little confused. "I told you what happened the other night, remember?"

"Oh!" Jamie said smacking his forehead. "You mean you were serious?"

"Yup," she took a sip of her drink. "Weren't you?"

"Well yeah, but..." Jamie shook his head. "Okay. And I thought the gnomes were weird."

"The gnomes were weird," she chuckled. "And thank you for not asking how old I really am. I appreciate that."

And that was of course going to be the next thing he said but...

"Well at least humor me and tell me you remember the 80's."

She groaned and covered her face, almost stabbing herself in the ear with a paper umbrella. "Please don't remind me. God, the hair alone..."

Jamie laughed. "Well at least I'm not the only one tortured by that decade."

"I think they should declare that entire decade a mistake," Sam said, "although compared to the seventies..."

Jamie shivered. "Only reason I'm glad my parents made me wear that special suit. I never had to wear a shirt with one of those collars."
