Luau, The Main Campfire, Friday evening

The main campfire had been turned into a tropical paradise... without the tropics. There were leis and grass skirts to wear, tropical music playing, a buffet table, and the infamous Limbo Stick of Destiny, an artifact brought back to America from World War II. Noody knows what happens when a person wins a limbo competition involving the Limbo Stick of Destiny, but several experts on the subject suggest that "absolutely nothing happens except maybe you win a little trophy."

It was party time at the Fandom High Summer Camp.

[OOC: OCD is up. Yes, there is pig, poi, and sometimes the band will switch from generic tropical music to 60's beach movie music, or maybe reggae, or Raffi. They're unpredictable like that.

The luau takes place during a long break in the rain that [livejournal.com profile] fh_weather is reporting. Yes, I'm modding the weather. Admin privilege.]

Surprisingly she's happy enough right now that thinking about detention really doesn't bother her the way it usually does. "I researched a language. Then I went to sleep," she said simply.

"That sounds boring," he replied, wrinkling his nose. "But still not that bad, I guess. I'm sure we'll get detention for the whole prank war at some point."

"It wasn't. We had dreams," she explained. "And then they became our worst nightmares." Her arms might have tightened around his neck then, because it was much nicer to concentrate on here and now then to remember.

"Oh."

Greg was quiet for a moment before offering a small half-smile and dipping his head to quickly kiss her. "That's a...really harsh punishment, as far as just detention goes."

Isabel sighed happily as he kissed her, then rested her head against his shoulder. "It sucked, especially because I was only there because of the lottery. In the end though, it was for the best. But that's a story for another time. I'm enjoying myself too much to think about it now."

Greg decided that whatever happened in that detention was probably going to make him slightly annoyed. So he let it go and just concentrated on how nice it felt to be holding Isabel and swaying slightly to the music.

"So, any thrilling weekend plans?" he asked quietly.

"No, not really," she said just as quietly. "Packing up and getting ready to move back to the dorm mostly. And I think there's cheerleader practice at some point." She tipped her head back and smiled, "Did you see that I made the squad?"

"I did see. Congratulations are in order. Did you see that apparently Greggette did did, too?" he asked, waggling his brows.

"I did," she laughed and then kissed him quickly. "Congratulations yourself. I can't wait to see you in the uniform."

"Yeah, no idea what John and I are going to do," Greg said thoughtfully, smiling at her. "Probably bow out, since we're nothing compared to the real girls of the team. Plus basketball needs us."

"That true," Isabel agreed. "And I need someone to cheer for." Then she blushed and hid her face in his shoulder.

"And we'll play the better for it," he murmured, grinning - not that she could see it.

"Ra, ra, ra," Greg contributed softly, kissing he cheek.
