Luau, The Main Campfire, Friday evening

The main campfire had been turned into a tropical paradise... without the tropics. There were leis and grass skirts to wear, tropical music playing, a buffet table, and the infamous Limbo Stick of Destiny, an artifact brought back to America from World War II. Noody knows what happens when a person wins a limbo competition involving the Limbo Stick of Destiny, but several experts on the subject suggest that "absolutely nothing happens except maybe you win a little trophy."

It was party time at the Fandom High Summer Camp.

[OOC: OCD is up. Yes, there is pig, poi, and sometimes the band will switch from generic tropical music to 60's beach movie music, or maybe reggae, or Raffi. They're unpredictable like that.

The luau takes place during a long break in the rain that fh_weather is reporting. Yes, I'm modding the weather. Admin privilege.]

"I know that," he says firmly, more to remind himself of that. "They just put a lot of junk in my head that gets to me from time to time."

She has a feeling she knows what he's talking about, but has no idea what to say to that. She's left with a "Yes. Well."

He stuffs his hands in his pockets and shrugs. "It's getting better. There's just the occasional knee-jerk when it comes to Molly."

"What is it you expect me to say?" she finally asks.

He frowns, not following. "What do you mean?"

"Exactly what I just said," she sighs. "You say you'll do better at actually seeing me, which only really happens when we're paired up in class. And then you start bringing up Molly, knowing that makes me twitchy, and the prior which you hardly felt like ever talking about. So... what is it I'm supposed to say?"

"Nothing, Aeryn. I don't expect you to say anything you don't feel like saying. This is me trying and I'm sorry if it didn't happen sooner, things have been stupid. I've been stupid, whatever," he sighed and shook his head.

"I'm trying to talk about it. It was too hard before, but keeping my mouth shut isn't helping and... Molly? I'm sorry if it makes you twitchy, Aeryn, but she means a lot to me and while I can shut up about the prior, Molly is something that won't just go away."

"I don't want you to shut up, in fact, that's the whole frelling point," she says, and looks straight at him when she says, "And know that if you do anything to hurt her, I am coming after you."

"Why?" Cameron asks automatically, but he shakes his head as he realises where they are. "This isn't the place."

Aeryn nods. "Later," she says, though she does wonder if it's ever going to happen.
