Luau, The Main Campfire, Friday evening

The main campfire had been turned into a tropical paradise... without the tropics. There were leis and grass skirts to wear, tropical music playing, a buffet table, and the infamous Limbo Stick of Destiny, an artifact brought back to America from World War II. Noody knows what happens when a person wins a limbo competition involving the Limbo Stick of Destiny, but several experts on the subject suggest that "absolutely nothing happens except maybe you win a little trophy."

It was party time at the Fandom High Summer Camp.

[OOC: OCD is up. Yes, there is pig, poi, and sometimes the band will switch from generic tropical music to 60's beach movie music, or maybe reggae, or Raffi. They're unpredictable like that.

The luau takes place during a long break in the rain that fh_weather is reporting. Yes, I'm modding the weather. Admin privilege.]

"Oh, if I'd known you needed to talk to her, I would have told her," Molly said. "Is it important? You could always go over to her cabin."

"It's not urgent, it's just that Angel asked me to keep an eye out for her and I'm neglecting my duty. I'm sure I'll run into her eventually," Cameron shrugged.

"Oh! She was sort of asking about Angel earlier. Or his room anyway. Are they from the same place?"

"I think I remember Angel saying that she wasn't from his universe, but that he knew a version of her. He said that if anything happened to him, she'd be able to help."

"Cool," she said and thought for a minute. "There are a lot of people from that... branch of reality. Dawn knows an Angel too. Which means that Buffy may too." She stopped to think again. "Or not. Since she doesn't even know Dawn yet.

"It's all too confusing without charts," she finally decided with a shake of her head.

Cameron pinched the bridge of his nose as he tried to map that in his mind. "They're confusing. Let's settle for that?"

Molly grinned. "That I can do," she said.

"Did you do anything fun besides basketball today?"

"It's been quiet," he said with a shrug and looked at Molly. "How about you?"

Molly shrugged. "I got to learn how to paddle a canoe this morning. That was new."

"Did you get wet?" Cameron smirked.

Molly lifted her chin at him. "I did not fall out if that is what you're suggesting," she said. "I was lucky enough to get paired with a guy who knew what he was doing."

Cameron raised an eyebrow. "Should I be jealous?" It was out before he realised it.

Molly's eyebrows went up and she looked at him for a moment as she tried to decide how to respond.

She finally went with her first, automatic response. "Should I be jealous of Marie?" she asked seriously.

Not what he was expecting. He reached out and stroked a finger over her cheek.

"No," he said softly.

Molly blushed as he stroked her cheek, but she grinned up at him.

"You have no reason to be jealous," she said.

He smiled back at her and gently stroked a lock of hair back under her hat.

"Not even of Sam?" he asked.

Molly shook her head as she continued to look up at him. "Didn't you see Buffy flirting with him in class yesterday? I couldn't compete with that even if I wanted to. Which I don't," she said.

"Don't sell yourself short," he stroked the back of his fingers along her cheek again. "You can compete with anyone."

Blushing again, she looked down briefly. "I don't want to compete with anyone," she said and then looked back up at him. "Unless it is for you."

His hand stilled on her cheek and he bit his lip. "There's no competition, Molly."

Molly couldn't think of anything else to say to that. So, instead, she reached up to cup his cheek and leaned in to kiss him.

They've got to stop doing this. Just not now. His hand slides down her neck as he kisses her back softly.

Molly never wanted it to stop. Shifting onto her knees, she wrapped both arms around his neck and continued to kiss him.

Cameron slipped his arms around her and smiled into the kiss. "We got to stop doing this," he murmured, but didn't exactly pull away either.

Molly pulled back only far enough so that she could look him in the eyes. "Why?" she asked before tilting her head and kissing him again.
