Luau, The Main Campfire, Friday evening

The main campfire had been turned into a tropical paradise... without the tropics. There were leis and grass skirts to wear, tropical music playing, a buffet table, and the infamous Limbo Stick of Destiny, an artifact brought back to America from World War II. Noody knows what happens when a person wins a limbo competition involving the Limbo Stick of Destiny, but several experts on the subject suggest that "absolutely nothing happens except maybe you win a little trophy."

It was party time at the Fandom High Summer Camp.

[OOC: OCD is up. Yes, there is pig, poi, and sometimes the band will switch from generic tropical music to 60's beach movie music, or maybe reggae, or Raffi. They're unpredictable like that.

The luau takes place during a long break in the rain that [livejournal.com profile] fh_weather is reporting. Yes, I'm modding the weather. Admin privilege.]

"It will be cooler?" he offered as it probably was the safest thought in his head right now.

Marie shrugged. "I guess. Are you guys getting uniforms?"

"I think so? I didn't ask, I just figured it'd be there. I should probably poke Tyler about that," he said. "I don't think it matters as much as cheerleader uniforms."

"Well, it would be nice if y'all had numbers so we could tell you apart easier," Marie pointed out.

"Hey," Cameron, who had an exact double on the team, protested. "I'm highly recognisable."

"Maybe we could get all your hair dyed different colors," Marie suggested. "That would be an easy way to differentiate between you."

Cameron narrowed his eyes at her. "I think I'm going to pass. I've had enough dyed hair to last me a lifetime, thank you very much."

"It was just a thought," Marie said innocently.

"Uh huh, suuuure," he shook his head. "Were you there when they pulled that prank?"

"I missed seeing you," Marie said. "But Jamie and a couple other boys from your cabin are in my Friday workshop."

"Imagine them all together and you have me," Cameron sighed.

Marie wasn't snickering. Oh no.

"Did anyone get pictures?"

Cameron might have muttered something that sounded like 'sack'.

"I'm sorry, I didn't quite catch that," Marie said, leaning in closer. "Could you repeat yourself?"

Cameron did the mature thing to do and stuck his tongue out.

Re: Main campfire

Marie laughed. "If my momma was here she'd tell you to put that back before you start catching flies."

Cameron laughed. "That's some wise advice. I think our mothers would get on like a house on fire."

"It's so very obvious that you're from the South," Marie replied with a grin.

"It's the tattoo," Cameron nodded seriously. "Hard to miss."

"You have a tattoo?" Marie asked.

"Yep, like every Southern citizen. You've got it too. Right here," he tapped the back of his neck. "Says 'made in the South'."

Marie rolled her eyes and reached over to thwap his shoulder.

She hesitated for a moment, wondering if there'd be two Camerons if she did it.

"What? Did no one ever tell you? I'm pretty sure it's there," Cameron smirked and didn't duplicate.

[identity profile] untouchableskin.livejournal.com 2006-06-03 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
"Turn around and let me see," Marie replied automatically not at all disappointed by the lack of two Camerons.

"Can't," Cameron put a hand over his neck and grimaced. "Pulled a muscle while playing."
