Luau, The Main Campfire, Friday evening

The main campfire had been turned into a tropical paradise... without the tropics. There were leis and grass skirts to wear, tropical music playing, a buffet table, and the infamous Limbo Stick of Destiny, an artifact brought back to America from World War II. Noody knows what happens when a person wins a limbo competition involving the Limbo Stick of Destiny, but several experts on the subject suggest that "absolutely nothing happens except maybe you win a little trophy."

It was party time at the Fandom High Summer Camp.

[OOC: OCD is up. Yes, there is pig, poi, and sometimes the band will switch from generic tropical music to 60's beach movie music, or maybe reggae, or Raffi. They're unpredictable like that.

The luau takes place during a long break in the rain that [livejournal.com profile] fh_weather is reporting. Yes, I'm modding the weather. Admin privilege.]

"Is that at threat or a promise?" Tim grinned. "There's so many good things to introduce you too." And couldn't that statement be taken a lot of ways.

"Some back home would think that me wanting to be near you is considered a threat." And where did those words come from?

"I want to learn all of these things you can show me."

She wanted to be near him? He smiled and blushed just a bit. "Okay, why would folks at home be threatened by that?" Did she have a boyfriend who was going to challenge him to a duel or something?

"Well, when you're finished with the punch, there's chocolate milk." Tim grinned. "And I still have to show you those movies about your father."

Gwynn smiled at him. "Because I'm a warrior more than I am a lady and they consider that dangerous." Nope. One king would make the other king see reason.

"Yes, the stories about my father."

"Ha!" tim laughed. "The number of women warriors here would probably make their heads explode then." He chuckled and unconciously moved a bit closer to her.

"Yeah, I was thinking, maybe we could comandeer one of the common rooms for a viewing?"

"I think my friend, Froderick, would be either in heaven... or hiding in a tree. It's hard to tell with him sometimes."

She might have moved closer to him, as well.

"Commandeeringf a common room to see stories of my father wld make me very happy, Tim," she agreed.

"How's sunday after we move back into the dorms sound?" he asked.

Closer still. His damn flip flop started to come off and he almost tripped. Damn he'd never get the hang of those.

Gwynn moved close enough where their shoulders were touching.

"That sounds like a great plan," she nodded. "I'm going to miss the cabins, though."

Tim swayed a bit as he righted his flip flop, bumping her shoulder a bit.

"Me too. The dorms just don't feel like summer camp."

Gwynn didn't move when he bumped her, Instead she just smiled.

"The dorms feel too much like school and they are too closed in."

Tim noted that she did not move, and her smile. "Have you been on the roof of the dorms yet?" he asked. "And now that I think of the dorms, is the castle bigger or smaller than the one's you're used to?"

He bumped her shoulder again, this time deliberately.

"I haven't been to the roof yet, no," she answered, bumping him back. "And... the castle is bigger than the monastery but smaller than Phillip's castle."

"And Philip is," think boy! "the king right?"

Bump. And maybe a poke to the side to see if she was ticklish.

That might have been an eep that escaped Gwynn when he poked her.

"Yes, King Phillip." She beamed. "You remembered."

Tim grinned at the eep, and would have poked her again, but was distracted by her beam. ooooh, shiny So he just kinda grinned a bit like an idiot for a moment before he regained his senses.

"So, how's a luau compare to the parties back home?"
