Luau, The Main Campfire, Friday evening

The main campfire had been turned into a tropical paradise... without the tropics. There were leis and grass skirts to wear, tropical music playing, a buffet table, and the infamous Limbo Stick of Destiny, an artifact brought back to America from World War II. Noody knows what happens when a person wins a limbo competition involving the Limbo Stick of Destiny, but several experts on the subject suggest that "absolutely nothing happens except maybe you win a little trophy."

It was party time at the Fandom High Summer Camp.

[OOC: OCD is up. Yes, there is pig, poi, and sometimes the band will switch from generic tropical music to 60's beach movie music, or maybe reggae, or Raffi. They're unpredictable like that.

The luau takes place during a long break in the rain that [livejournal.com profile] fh_weather is reporting. Yes, I'm modding the weather. Admin privilege.]

"Pick that out all on your own, huh?" D greeted with a half-grin.

Alec grinned ruefully in return. "I begin to regret wearing it, even if it did appear in my stuff completely randomly. It seemed like the thing to do at the time, wearing a Hawaiian shirt to a luau."

"You have magically appearing clothes and you wore them? I might have to revoke your Fandom Island survival points, cheer-boy." D's grin grew wider.

He shrugged, grinning still. "Hey, it's a conversation piece."

"You have a point. We'll overlook the part where it also calls into question your sanity cause that kinda thing is over-rated here." D winked and took a drink of her possibly alcoholic fruity beverage.

"It's definitely a place to let loose," he said. "You know, I realize we're in the same cabin, but I don't actually see you there much, I noticed."

"Ummmmmm" D peered over the edge of her glass at Alec. "I live on the other side and, er, sleep a lot and stay busy? have a player that works too damn much? I've gone back up to my dormroom a few times but..." she shrugged.

"Glad we have class together then," he said, smiling. "What do you think of it so far?"

"And apparently we have cheerleading together, too." D brought her glass down. "It's interesting. I hadn't expected the practical application aspect though, I'll admit."

"That's right," he said cheerfully. "Almost forgot about that. And I think the interactive tactic is a good one - some people learn much better hands-on."

D smirked a little at that, "hands on can be nice." Then another thought struck her and she pulled a face at few choice mental images. "As for some of our workshopmates, I hope they just keep their hands to themselves." D declined to name names though.
