Luau, The Main Campfire, Friday evening

The main campfire had been turned into a tropical paradise... without the tropics. There were leis and grass skirts to wear, tropical music playing, a buffet table, and the infamous Limbo Stick of Destiny, an artifact brought back to America from World War II. Noody knows what happens when a person wins a limbo competition involving the Limbo Stick of Destiny, but several experts on the subject suggest that "absolutely nothing happens except maybe you win a little trophy."

It was party time at the Fandom High Summer Camp.

[OOC: OCD is up. Yes, there is pig, poi, and sometimes the band will switch from generic tropical music to 60's beach movie music, or maybe reggae, or Raffi. They're unpredictable like that.

The luau takes place during a long break in the rain that [livejournal.com profile] fh_weather is reporting. Yes, I'm modding the weather. Admin privilege.]

"Same for now," Peter replied, also glancing around the party.

"So what is this supposed to be, exactly?"

"From what I understand, it's supposed to be a traditional party like those found in Hawaii - a group of tropical islands. But I'll venture a guess that the natives wouldn't recognize this as anything of the sort."

"A party's a party."

"And around here, everything seems to be an excuse for a party." Peter said. "Not that I mind," he added hastily as some girls in grass skirts danced by.

"That I don't mind or that everything's an excuse?" Peter asked, chuckling.

Briar grinned. "Everything's an excuse, of course."

"Good. I would hate to be too obvious in appreciation."
