Luau, The Main Campfire, Friday evening

The main campfire had been turned into a tropical paradise... without the tropics. There were leis and grass skirts to wear, tropical music playing, a buffet table, and the infamous Limbo Stick of Destiny, an artifact brought back to America from World War II. Noody knows what happens when a person wins a limbo competition involving the Limbo Stick of Destiny, but several experts on the subject suggest that "absolutely nothing happens except maybe you win a little trophy."

It was party time at the Fandom High Summer Camp.

[OOC: OCD is up. Yes, there is pig, poi, and sometimes the band will switch from generic tropical music to 60's beach movie music, or maybe reggae, or Raffi. They're unpredictable like that.

The luau takes place during a long break in the rain that

"Nobody ever turns down an opportunity to get free food," He looked down at what she had grabbed for, staring at it oddly. "But I think it might be safe to ask what that is before I try it?"

"I don't know what it is, either, really," she says ~~as the mun discovers a quick google search that reveals that poi isn't actually food; laaaame.~~. "But it's good. You should try one of the skewer things. And the pig is fantastic. There's some fruit over there, too, I think."

~~That's not what Wiki told me!~~ "I think I'll just stick with the fruit for now," Alphonse said as he grabbed an orange. "Not really all that hungry right now." He may feel a bit wierd about there being a pig on the table, ready to eat, though; it was probably the appearance of it.

"I'm famished," she says, without even realizing it, yet again. Perhaps it really was just because eating was such a rare thing for her that it's particularly noteworthy when she's hungry.

Wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poi_%28food%29) knows all. "Ah, I guess it's because I woke up not feeling well," he said, slowly peeling the orange. "Sorta distracted me from having an appetite."

"Just a regular cold or something, I hope," she says, frown deep with worry. "I was just talking to someone who turned into a ferret. Well, not to them, but to their friend. I hope it's not catching."

"Nah, it'll go away soon. It's just the after-effects of, um..." Alphonse paused, a little embarassed. "Seras invited me to go to Caritas with her and Pippi and Pip and Demyx..."

"Caritas?" Head tilt.

"It's a karaoke bar in town," he explained. "It's one of the really popular places to go to. There's often a lot of parties there."

"Oh," she says, and then after a moment, she adds an, "Ohhhhhh" and smirks slightly. "I see."

But then another thought flits into her mind, a slight groan with a roll of her eyes. "Oh, God. Karaoke. I can't escape it, can I?"

Alphonse just kinda facepalmed. "... They insisted," he said weakly.

"Mm? Something wrong with karaoke?"

At first, she's shocked that he asks, but then Sakurazaki reminds herself that he's from a different time. She sighs, shoulders slumping with it. "The Japanese are notorious fans of karaoke. It originated there. And the girls in my class back home..." She shakes her head, wide-eyed. "They like their karaoke."

"It does seem like fun," he said, but noticed her negative tone about it. "But, ah... guess it goes with the saying, too much of a good thing is never wise."

"Half of them are very, very tone deaf, and do not realize it," she explains with a nod. "But you're right; it can be fun. Outside of obsession."

"That'd be one of the reasons why I'm hesitant to try it," Alphonse said sheepishly. "I've got no idea how well I sing."

"You mean you didn't even try it?" She says with a little frown. "Even I tried it. Granted, they made me, but that's beside the point."

"Um, if it makes up for it, Pippi claims I was singing fairly off-key on the way home," he said, joking at himself. Alphonse was just glad he didn't remember it.

"I suppose that can count," she grins. "Did she mention what you were singing?"

"No, but I wouldn't be surprised if I ended up improvising the entire thing."

Laughing lightly, Sakurazaki assures him, "Then I'm sure it was wonderful. Those kind of songs are the best ones."
