Luau, The Main Campfire, Friday evening

The main campfire had been turned into a tropical paradise... without the tropics. There were leis and grass skirts to wear, tropical music playing, a buffet table, and the infamous Limbo Stick of Destiny, an artifact brought back to America from World War II. Noody knows what happens when a person wins a limbo competition involving the Limbo Stick of Destiny, but several experts on the subject suggest that "absolutely nothing happens except maybe you win a little trophy."

It was party time at the Fandom High Summer Camp.

[OOC: OCD is up. Yes, there is pig, poi, and sometimes the band will switch from generic tropical music to 60's beach movie music, or maybe reggae, or Raffi. They're unpredictable like that.

The luau takes place during a long break in the rain that fh_weather is reporting. Yes, I'm modding the weather. Admin privilege.]

"So how well do you know Aeryn?" Jamie asks. "Did you know she was an alien?"

"I know Aeryn better than some, not as good as others," Molly said. "And, yeah, I know she's an alien. Lots of people here are."

"Yeah it's funny how they all look human," Jamie said looking around the campfire. "Do you know anything about where she came from? She's pretty tightlipped about it."

"No," Molly said simply. Because what she did know was not her information to give.

"Oh," Jamie said looking slightly disappointed. "She told me she lived on a ship her whole life but that was pretty much it."

Molly shrugged. "Maybe that's all she's comfortable talking about."

"She seems pretty comfortable with John," Jamie notes looking at the two from across the campfire. "Have they been going out long?"

Molly grinned at them. "They've been together as long as I've been here," she said. "Even when they're not calling themselves boyfriend and girlfriend, they're together." There may have been a slightly wistful tone in that last part.

"Huh. That's nice. They look very happy together," Jamie said in a hollow tone of voice.

Jamie plastered a grin on his face. "Who me? Couldn't be better. Just a little sad I didn't make it as a cheerleader."

Molly frowned a little. Both because she didn't quite believe him and because now she felt a little guilty for automatically disqualifying him for being a Stickbug.

"Maybe if we need somebody later, you could try out again," she said.

"Oh, no. You girls had your chance for the best," Jamie said jokingly. "You'll just have to get along without me now."

Molly stuck out her tongue at him. "We didn't want any Stickbugs anyway. I was just being nice."
