Luau, The Main Campfire, Friday evening

The main campfire had been turned into a tropical paradise... without the tropics. There were leis and grass skirts to wear, tropical music playing, a buffet table, and the infamous Limbo Stick of Destiny, an artifact brought back to America from World War II. Noody knows what happens when a person wins a limbo competition involving the Limbo Stick of Destiny, but several experts on the subject suggest that "absolutely nothing happens except maybe you win a little trophy."

It was party time at the Fandom High Summer Camp.

[OOC: OCD is up. Yes, there is pig, poi, and sometimes the band will switch from generic tropical music to 60's beach movie music, or maybe reggae, or Raffi. They're unpredictable like that.

The luau takes place during a long break in the rain that

Kaylee grinned. "More than okay. Much better than what I can do."

Like she had been doing all night, she twirled around in a circle.

Joxer grinned. "Well, I like that better than what I do," he said. "It's very graceful."

"Betcha you wouldn't be sayin' that if I was wearin' my mechanic's uniform and had grease all over my face." Kaylee continued to smile cheerfully.

"I walk around in armor all day," Joxer pointed out. "I'm not one to judge on outfit. But as for the grease..." Joxer tilted his head. "Maybe it'd bring out your eyes, a bit."

Kaylee was impressed. "Not everyone can take grease and make a compliment using it."

"I guess it's just easy to find compliments for you," Joxer said. He was blushing a little.

Kaylee was blushing a little as well. "So, Joxer, you havin' a good time here?"

"Yeah, I am," Joxer said. "Are you?"

"I truly am," Kaylee said happily.

Joxer grinned. "You know, I danced a bit, and you danced, but we really didn't dance together yet."

"This is true. Maybe we should do something 'bout that?"

"Maybe we should," Joxer said. "Er, normally, this involves, uhhh, touching."

"I'm okay with that," Kaylee said with a smile.

Joxer gulped. "Okay, so.. I think I put this here." He tentatively put a hand on Kaylee's hip. "And, erm, I think you hold the other one."

Kaylee nodded, taking his hand and placing her other hand on his shoulder. "You got it right."

Joxer bit his lip, but he was still smiling. "Uh... What comes next?"

Kaylee grinned. "We just kinda move with the music. A slow song is playing, so that makes it easier. Also, we try not to step on each other's toes."

Joxer proceeded to do just that.

The moving with the music. He was amazingly avoiding the whole toe-stepping thing.

"This is nice," he said. "Don't you think so?

"I'm havin' a nice time, yeah," Kaylee said, grinning.

Joxer grinned back. "Maybe we should do this again some time?"

"I'd like that."

"Me too," Joxer said. "Maybe, er, we could go on a date, maybe?"

"I'd like that too," Kaylee said. This seemed to be going well.

Joxer grinned. "Over the weekend, maybe? I'm not so sure what people do on dates, these days. So you'll have to help me through this."

"The weekend sounds good," Kaylee confirmed. "And I don't mind helping. It might not be all that different..."
