Luau, The Main Campfire, Friday evening

The main campfire had been turned into a tropical paradise... without the tropics. There were leis and grass skirts to wear, tropical music playing, a buffet table, and the infamous Limbo Stick of Destiny, an artifact brought back to America from World War II. Noody knows what happens when a person wins a limbo competition involving the Limbo Stick of Destiny, but several experts on the subject suggest that "absolutely nothing happens except maybe you win a little trophy."

It was party time at the Fandom High Summer Camp.

[OOC: OCD is up. Yes, there is pig, poi, and sometimes the band will switch from generic tropical music to 60's beach movie music, or maybe reggae, or Raffi. They're unpredictable like that.

The luau takes place during a long break in the rain that

Walter spun around and lifted his hands to give Nadia a chance to spin with him. The expression on his face was pure glee.

Nadia? Was totally spinning, too. "I think I like this music."

"I know I like this music." Because it was just a spinny bouncy Fishgrenade sort of day. "But having a dance partner who likes to wiggle her hips," Walter demonstrated with a hip wiggle, "is a big help.

Nadia grinned. "You're getting better at that. Hip wiggles are very important."

"Yes, but I didn't think I'd be doing them so publicly," Walter said and wiggled a little closer before bouncing up and down giddily.

To say that today's mood had anything to do with French maid's costumes and conveniently timed rainshowers would be completely fair, if perhaps not the best thing to observe aloud.

Nadia didn't worry about why Walter was in such a good mood, she just was happy that he was. "Hey, if it stays not-raining, maybe we should go swimming later."

Since she's already in her swim suit.

"As long as it stays warm, we can go swimming. It's not as though we have to worry about getting wet." And he had oh so definitely noticed that she was in her suit.

"Great!" Nadia said, not realizing that, despite the fact that the weather was pleasantly warm (to her sensibilities), the water was still going to be pretty cold. "We could do an evening or night swim or something. Just as long as we avoid the sharks."

Walter nodded and bounced a bit with the music. "No sharks. Definitely no sharks." He cocked his head and thought for a moment. "I could check with Pippi about her gillyweed supply. You really do have to try it sometime. It's such fun."

Nadia remembered him mentioning that stuff. "That does sound like fun."

"It really is." Walter bounced to a stop with the change in music and leaned in to give Nadia a quick kiss before looking around. "I'll go find Pippi and ask her about the gillyweed."

"I'll stay here and keep dancing." Nadia kissed him back quickly and squeezed his hands before letting go and finding Pip for a dance.
