Luau, The Main Campfire, Friday evening

The main campfire had been turned into a tropical paradise... without the tropics. There were leis and grass skirts to wear, tropical music playing, a buffet table, and the infamous Limbo Stick of Destiny, an artifact brought back to America from World War II. Noody knows what happens when a person wins a limbo competition involving the Limbo Stick of Destiny, but several experts on the subject suggest that "absolutely nothing happens except maybe you win a little trophy."

It was party time at the Fandom High Summer Camp.

[OOC: OCD is up. Yes, there is pig, poi, and sometimes the band will switch from generic tropical music to 60's beach movie music, or maybe reggae, or Raffi. They're unpredictable like that.

The luau takes place during a long break in the rain that [livejournal.com profile] fh_weather is reporting. Yes, I'm modding the weather. Admin privilege.]

Kaylee grinned. "Hey Pip! How've you been?"

"Not bad. Kind of missing the sun with all this rain. Although considering some of us went and thanked a god for the rain yesterday, I suppose I can't really complain."

"I miss the sun, too," Kaylee admitted. She noticed the scars, but didn't want to pry. Instead, she asked a safer question. "What god did you all thank?"

"Frey," Pip replied. "Norse God of the Harvest and Weather and Farming and Male Sexuality. Ask Pippi, she knows all about it."

"Sounds shiny," Kaylee said of the god. "Or rainy as the case may be here."

"Yes. Apparently the way to honor Frey is to drink beer. Which we did. In abundance. And I learned that some of my friends are serious lightweights."

"That's the way all gods should be honored," Kaylee said, grinning.

Pip grinned back, "No arguement from me. Maybe more people would go to church if they did that."

"Oh definitely," Kaylee added.

"I'll be sure to bring it up with the Pope if I ever see him. I'm sure he'd be open to new ideas."
