Writing Workshop - 5/30 - Journalism Classroom - Tuesday Morning

Chloe was grinning as everyone came into the classroom, looking as though she'd had a very good weekend.

"Hey everyone! Welcome back. I'm glad to see you all survived the first week, and decided to come back." She may have given Cameron and Janet a special smile there. "So, last week we talked about writing biographies. This week, we're going to be flipping a bit and talking about obituaries. Sadly, everyone has to die someday - at least, they do where I come from."

"What I want you to do today is write an obituary, either for yourself, or for someone else." Chloe smirked. "Feel free to write about someone who you wish was dead, because I certainly won't hold that against you."

Marie shrugged. "Furniture doesn't make a place cool. The people do," she pointed out.

"No, but it means the cool people are comfortable there so that's where they go," he said logically. "Besides, we got the furniture because some one blew up our common room and so people pitched together to rebuilt it and make it even cooler."

"Someone blew up your common room?" Marie repeated. "Was anyone hurt?"

"No, but it came close." Cameron grimaced as he remembered that day. "I was actually going to sleep in that common room because I'd gotten locked out of my own room. Thank god that Jaye offered me a place to sleep on her floor."

"How'd you get locked out of your room?" Marie asked. "And couldn't maintenance or something let you back in?"

"Not really," he said sheepishly. "I had pissed off my girlfriend and she locked me out."

"I didn't know you had a girlfriend," Marie said. "You never mentioned her."

"I don't. We broke up a few months ago," he paused. "I should probably have said ex, right? Sorry."

"That's okay," Marie assured him. "I just didn't want you to get in trouble for taking me flying the other day."

Cameron frowned, remembering Molly's reaction. "Even if I'd have a girlfriend it wouldn't have been trouble. It was just two friends hanving fun."

"I know that some girls are jealous and possessive of their boyfriends," Marie pointed out. "But I did have fun."

"That's not just typical for girls," Cameron assured her and smiled. "I had fun too."

Marie smiled back. "I wish I could teach you something in return," she said. "But I somehow don't see you wearing a tutu."

Cameron coughed. "No. Definitely not my style."

"Well, I suppose I'll just have to owe you a favor then," Marie giggled at his reaction.

"Cool, I can work with that." Cameron grinned and maybe he might make her regret that promise later on.

Marie stuck her hand out to shake. "Sounds like a deal." Poor naive Marie. It never occurred to her that Cameron would make her regret that.

"Deal," he said as he shook her hand. "I might call for your aide in a prank war or something."
