Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day
Good weather had fallen over Fandom this morning, so the picnic conditions were looking fantastic. The bonfire was there for good measure, along with the makings of s'mores, because it was almost truly summer, right?
There was plenty of food, and there were tables and chairs set up all across the lawn with varying degrees of glitter stuck to them. Everything was ready for another welcome picnic!
[OCD-free! Welcome the new folks gently! Or not!]

Gray was ignoring that he had changed his own name at one point. That didn't make him a hypocrite. It was ancient history and he'd only done it once. (Never mind that his dad still couldn't get the hang of his new one. That was a Belphegor-specific problem.)

"I'll make sure to add it to the agenda items," Arden said with a nod. "Honestly, that'll probably be easier to pass than any of the other things on the docket."
You know, like human rights and ecological protections.

"Get on with that," Gray agreed, laughing. "Chop chop!" Yeah, if y'all could stop killing the planet Gray had to keep living on that would be great, actually.
"So besides meeting the medieval guy--which, yikes--are you having a fun picnic? What did I miss while I was asleep?"

"Let's see, Eleanor's sister showed up because she's enrolled here now, as a surprise, Lydia and I are going to convince Mr. Blackwood's familiar to open up a cat cafe actually run by sapient magical cats--" because what could possibly go wrong? "--and Stewart remains allergic to sun and socializing. Oh! And I saved the picnic by pulling a bag of raisins away from a squirrel looking to pour them into the potato salad."

But when did they ever come to the island!
"Like I said, I saved us. I'm gonna bring these home and put them in cookies where they belong."
no subject
"Blech. You can have 'em. Raisins don't belong anywhere, if you ask me."
no subject
"I'm gonna make chocolate chip cookies, too, and then put them all together," Arden said. "It's like a guessing game which one you get!"
You'd chosen this sibling, Gray.

"Nooooooo. Arden! Why would you be so mean?" He was giving her the puppy eyes, which he knew to be very effective. Sometimes they worked on Galen.

Kidding! Just kidding! She loved you best of all Gray.
"Okay, no, hey! No fair, don't look at me like that!" Arden said, throwing her arms in front of her face like she could block out the eyes.

"I will increase the looking," Gray intoned solemnly, then reached over to poke her in the ribs and asked her, "Hey, what workshops are you taking? I'm taking Ray's and I'm gonna make him make waffles every week." Good luck with that, buddy.

Because breakfast cake, Gray!
"Teamwork, National Park Adventure Team, Paintball obviously, and also Galactic Tourism. How about you?"
no subject
"Aw, I don't have any of those. I'm in the one about new hobbies and 'Relax and Chill.' Which I'm totally gonna ace," he joked.
no subject
It was possible Arden didn't care so much about the learning and just wanted breakfast cake.
