Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day

Good weather had fallen over Fandom this morning, so the picnic conditions were looking fantastic. The bonfire was there for good measure, along with the makings of s'mores, because it was almost truly summer, right?

There was plenty of food, and there were tables and chairs set up all across the lawn with varying degrees of glitter stuck to them. Everything was ready for another welcome picnic!

"I'm not sure if there are new faces here or if I haven't gotten out enough," Rey told her.

"They're not mutually exclusive, you know," Summer pointed out with a smirk. "But I lean toward the latter. We don't get nearly as maybe new faces at these things as we did back in our day."

Which, to be fair, was longer ago than it had any right to be.

"It does make it easier to keep names straight, at least?"

"I guess that's one silver lining," Summer said with a snort. "Although, really, if someone's name is hard to remember, I feel like that's on them for not being more, you know, memorable."

"I've probably been the unmemorable person," Rey said. "But radio can at least remind you of who you talked to."

"Or," Summer added, "if for whatever reason you didn't get their name, radio can let you know what it is for future reference. I feel like that happens at the bar sometimes, especially if it's a newbie and they get distracted by the jello."

"Understandable. The jello even throws me off sometimes and I've been going for years," she said.

"The moment I can no longer throw off even my best friends with my jello," Summer stated, in a grave and serious voice like a vow, "is the day I might as well just die, for real."

"First, don't say that. But also it would never happen."
