While most of Youtube was a horrible cesspit (much like the rest of the internet, really), there were still some wholesome and pure sections that one could visit to relax a bit. Carpet cleaning videos, for one. Powerwashing videos. Item restoration videos were also pretty great for that, and videos showing how.

Today, however, Arden was watching some guy dig out amazing open air buildings in the ground, by hand. She wasn't a hundred percent sure there wasn't some kind of trick at play here, but she also didn't care. Either way, it was a really compelling watch.

Or maybe she was just a nerd. Whatever.

"Well, I just heard there's going to be a dance next week, and I wanted to ask if I could have the pleasure of your company. You asked me last year," and he'd never recovered emotionally, "so I figured I should ask you this year instead."

Arden's smile was immediate; bright and warm as sunshine, and so very, very happy. In case Cal has any questions about whether or not this has been a good idea, let him be confused no longer.

"I'd love to go to the dance with you, Cal," Arden said, dragging at least one of those kisses off the table and giving it to him. "Thank you for asking me."

Did he know she would want to go with him? Yes. Was a tiny part of him still worried? Also yes.

"Oh good. I'll be much less awkward of a dancer this time," he said with a laugh. "That was one of the highlights of last year, so I want to make sure we have fun again."
