Documentaries 101 (Workshop #1) - A/V Room, Tuesday Morning

Jay and Silent Bob don't look slightly nervous at being in the school without having broken in, or without a giant ball or Mountie on their tail. Nope. Not at all.

Which is why Jay isn't pacing the classroom, fidgeting like mad. Then again, that might also be because he had a coffee date set for after the workshop. The fidgeting halted when he realised that the entirety of their 'class' was cute little girls. That was when the leer started in, focused on the one he didn't know.

"Yo, tubby, get yourself out here," he called, and Silent Bob popped up from behind a sound board, a bunch of wires in his hand. He popped back down, possibly to rewire things, before emerging, brushing off his hands.

"Alright. I'm Jay and this is Silent Bob."

Bob waved.

"And we've gotta teach you some sh - stuff about documentaries or some sh - thing." He jerked his thumb over his shoulder. "It was tubby's idea. So . . ." Silent Bob handed him a notebook. "You really put a lot of effort into this, didn't you?" Jay shook his head and looked down. "Shit. It's like a lesson plan. And today, uh, Bob is going to show you how to use your cameras." He kept reading. It took a moment. Bob pointed at a sentence scribbled near the top and Jay read it aloud. "Over the next few weeks, we will be showing you how to plan, film, edit, and present a documentary." Jay turned to Bob. "Honestly, tubby, you need to get a life."

Silent Bob rolled his eyes before heading over to a shelf and handing out a camcorder to each student. He proceeded to demonstrate how they worked and how to use the various functions. Despite the fact that he didn't speak the entire time, plus some diagrams, the explanation was easy to understand and very thorough.

Once finished, he nudged Jay and pointed to the next line of the script.

"Right." Jay looked down and continued to read. "So, you can use this camcorders outside of class. Get used to using them this week and start thinking about a topic for your documentary. Next week will be topic selection and then we'll start talking about interviews and research." Jay looked up at Bob. "Research, tubby? Like books and shit?" He shook his head. "Fu - forget that."

Silent Bob just sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose.

Bueller? Bueller?

Pippi is wearing her hair down.

"Hi Bob!" she waves, totally ignoring Jay.

Bob grinned and waved back, pointing to her hair before giving a thumbs up. He liked.

Pippi shook her hair like she was in a shampoo commercial.

"Thanks!"

Paige comes in and waves to both Jay and Bob, cos she's nice like that, she is prepared for Jay's annoyingness though.

"Hey baby," Jay leered in her general direction.

This is actually the least offensive she's known Jay to be, even with the leering so she just smiles back, "Hey Jay, looking forward to having a legitimate career?" she asked him

"Me? Fuck no. Fatass here is the one with the career aspirations," Jay scoffed, sidling closer. "I'm just here for the fine teenage pussy."

Yep, he really needs those lessons.

Paige is pretty much lost for words for a few moments then.

"You know you can get arrested for that right?" she asked finally

"Only if I get caught."

Paige shrugged, "yeah okay good point," she conceeded.

This is bad. This is real bad; she can feel it just coming in through the door, and Sakurazaki does whatever she can to sign in quietly and give her customary bow of respect to the teacher before just flitting over toward Paige-san because at least she knows her.

She really, really doesn't want to know what Jay's thinking about the Japanese school girl look. The leer should say it all.

Her back hasn't been this ridgid since she got there, and she's been straightening those shoulders in shock and fear quite a lot. Her mind is racing with very poor assurances that, no, that look doesn't mean what she thinks it means, because a teacher wouldn't think something like that about a student, and then she thinks to Negi-sensei, and...and...

Sakurazaki finally caves in, buring her face in her hands, and just waiting for the actual intstruction of the class to start. She has a feeling...a deperate hope...that things will get better once the other instructor starts in.

Paige winces, looks at Sakurazaki with a very worried expression then glares at Jay with a look that says 'back off the new girl,'

"Don't worry he's not as bad as he seems," she assures her.

((now with what I actually to say))

Sakurazaki can only regard Paige-san with very wide you've-got-to-be-kidding-me eye peeking out from her hands.

Paige frowns, "Bob keeps him in check, really." she says hoping maybe that'll make her feel a little better.

Pippi recalls meeting this girl at the slumber party vaguely and waves to her.

Sakurazaki allows one of her hands to move away from her face in a small wave back to Pippi.

"... Are you okay?"

She shakes her head slightly from side to side. "I...I will be..."

And adds in a very small voice. "I hope."

Pippi leaned in clandestinely and whispered, "Is there anything I can do for ya?"

Pippi's kindness does help her relax a little. At least enough that she sets her hands down on the desk and her smile is slightly less tense. "No, thank you. I'm...I'm okay." She nods firmly. "Really."

She's still silently adding an I think, though.

"Oh, okay. Wull, you let me know if there's anything. Kay?"

For Bob or Jay. About anything, really.

Time to be a star!

Pippi is fiddling with the camera, trying out the effects that it can do on the fly.

She's worried that her eyes are perminantly stretched wide and her eyebrows eternally raised after the introduction, but Sakurazaki is later absorbed in the silent instruction on how to use the camera and sets about applying the knowledge to the funny contraption in her hands.

It isn't long until she's making rather artist little clips of the fly on the windowsill.

Pippi films Sakurazaki filming the fly...

In slow motion.

Because she can.

Just in case.
