Jane had a leopard in headlock as class started this week. Because somehow this place was continuing to surprise them.

"Hi! Hey! Sorry, we're just--" Trying to keep it from eating any faces.

Cara was quite sensibly keeping her face away from the leopard, and not really helping Jane wrestle with it. Look, she wasn't allowed to use her agiels on it, it was endangered or something. "Apparently leopards are both notoriously fond of eating faces, and continually surprising people when they do so."

"Maybe next time we just go to the zoo," Jane suggested, wrangling said leopard as best she could. Poor creature. Thinking only of murder all day.

"And don't leap face first into the leopard enclosure." Because it seemed people needed to be told that.

"Hi, there, Mr. Leopard!" Graham said, beaming brightly as his hand waved in the air. "Thanks for not eating any of our faces, that's really great of you! I really like your spots. I hear you can't changed them, though, is that true?"

And what followed after was a short inquiry in meows, with a little touch of purrs, but you'd have to understand Cat to know what he'd said!

Yes, Belle was impressed. Obviously she knew he could talk to Triumph but that was different!

"Oh, no," Graham admitted, a little sheepishly, giving Belle a bit of an apologetic smile with a touch of pink filling his cheeks. "That was just basic Cat. I was asking if he knew it, because while they're not the same, they share the same root language, and i thought maybe we could still work something out."

"I don't even speak Cat," Belle said. "So it's still impressive to me."

"Well," Graham chuckled a little, rubbing the back of his neck, but the blush took on a roster, warmer, prouder sort of hue, "I'm glad someone is, because he," he gestured toward the leopard, "sure doesn't seem to be! Maybe I'm too loud and should just... whisker."

He then looked at Belle hopefully to see if the joke landed.

The excited, thrilled sparkle in Graham's eyes was immediately.

"Really?" he asked, tampering down his grin to look overly thoughtful, fingers now to his chin. "Hmm. Then it must be something else. Too fast? Maybe I should have left room for more...paws."

"Oh! Well!" Graham puffed himself up importantly. "He should know there's no claws for concern! No need to be feline intimidated! When I say I'm a pretty easy-going guy, I'm really not kitten!"
