Teamwork Training and Combat Skills; Thursday, Second Period [11/07

"We've been focusing quite a bit on the teamwork side of things," said Gladio, as class got started, and his was already holding his big giant sword over his shoulders, so you could probably guess where the rest of that sentence was going, "especially when it comes to strategy and communication, so today? We're going to focus a bit more on the combat side."

"But," Prompto chimed in cheerfully, "we're going to do it teamwork style!"

"Which means working on combat combos," Ignis continued smoothly. "Essentially, developing moves and techniques that find ways to take your strengths and the strength of your teammates and combine them into an effective fighting strategy. We'll take some time to break down some specific ideas, before working on cultivating individual methods based on your personal styles, but, for the most part, combat combos breaks down into three different types: blitz attacks, directional attacks, and finishers."

"A blitz attack is going to be an all out rush to the enemy with everyone giving it their all," Gladio explained further, "while a directional attack is a bit more stragized to have two or more people coming at an enemy from opposite or strategic directions. And, finally, a finisher is where your teammate sets you up to land one last devistating blow on your enemy. Or at least get close to it. Finishers," he added a grin, "tend to be my favorite kind.

"Of course," Prompto added, "there's a lot of variation and it's not just those. We'll show you a few examples of what we mean with our own personal styles and just a lot of combos we've developed from working together over the years, and then you guys'll take some time to warm up and then get together and think of any combos you can put together with your teammates! Practice them a little bit and then you can show them off! Pretty simple, right? So let's get started!"

Ignis' combos usually involve a flurry of knives or a deadly drop from above. No tossing needed!
