Food Field Trips, Friday 9/20 2nd Period

Another Friday and another trip to Portalocity for the Food Field Trips class.

“Candy today,” Stark said. “Jelly beans, specifically. I know they get eaten more around Easter but they’re good any time.”

There was probably a student enthusiastically agreeing with him right this moment.

“We’ll be going to the Jelly Belly factory in Fairfield, CA. There’s a factory tour and ‘museum experience’ and a train to ride and of course plenty of candy to eat. If everyone’s here, and ready, let’s go, shall we?”

After checking with the staff, it was determined that while the jelly beans did not contain actual gelatin, the coating used did contain other animal products.
Alas.

There were, however, just enough vegan-friendly chocolate items on offer at the wine pairing to make a slightly modified version of the experience worth it, so guess where Watts was headed to, tugging Steven who was modded with permission along with him?

Steven went along gladly, afterwards putting in a preference for looking at the art. Which he enjoyed even if some of the pictures of things like American presidents didn't do much for him as subjects. He could still admire the cleverness involved in putting the pictures together.
