Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, Saturday, All Day

It was the start of a new term, and there were some new people around, so it was time for a picnic! The sun was shining and the last bits of summer weather were still upon the island, so a few of the lawn's sprinklers insisted on doing their spraying duty no matter how much Zoe tried to turn them off. In less frustrating news, the food was ready, the nametags were out, and everything was set up for a lovely picnic day!

Watts looked himself over- complete with a twirl as he tried to get a good look at his backside, yes- "It appears I am unscathed."

Steven watched the twirl - and Llewellyn's backside - appreciatively.

"That's good then. Means your pockets are safe for snacks."

"Nobody wants a soggy biscuit," Watts agreed solemnly.

"Or pretzel," Steven said. He looked to see if there were any. "Suppose that's a challenge to keep in mind though. Make sure not to get hit on the way out either."

Steven was not going to be successful at that.

"At least you ought to dry quickly?" Watts said. "With the sun out and all."

"And it's nothing sensitive to water," Steven said, indicating what he was wearing. "No harm done."

Watts nodded. "Be a shame if trying to be sociable ruined your clothing."

"Mine will recover," Steven said, with confidence. "The important thing is no snacks were ruined by getting wet."

Whether or not anyone considered Steven a snack was a separate issue.

Watts did (or would if he were familiar at all with the slang) and might even argue that Steven in a wet t-shirt was even more snack-like.

"There are plenty about," Watts said. "So replacing anything wouldn't have been too much trouble, but it's good they didn't go to waste."

Steven grinned. "All the more reason to eat as much as we can now as well."

"My sentiments exactly," Watts said, bumping Steven's shoulder with his own.

"Save us on having to make anything too complicated for dinner later," Steven said. "Don't mind that."

"Pizza?" Watts suggested. "Which- we could order or make. Simple either way."

"In the mood for it if I'm honest," Steven said. "Must be reading my mind."

"Homemade or delivery?" Watts asked, pleased that they were on the same page.

[hasaknightjob]

"Delivery," Steven said. "Let's give ourselves a rest tonight."

"Sounds like a plan," Watts said, giving Steven's shoulder another bump.

It absolutely would have been a kiss on the cheek if not for the fact that they were at the welcome picnic, public space that it was.

Steven gave Llewellyn a shoulder bump back, as well as a look of understanding.

Watts smiled softly back at him, grateful.
