Welcome Party for the Summer Students and Staff

Despite the slightly overcast sky, the weather is still good for welcoming all of the new arrivals for the Fandom High summer session. The graduation decorations (and gremlin debris) have been cleared from the front lawn, and replaced with tables of information packets, food, and drinks. A series of signs point the students to the information table first, where they can pick up their room assignments from the office drones, and then continue on to the food tables to mingle.

And no, there are no inflatable gremlins around today. It's far too early to start scaring the new folks. That's what the mingling section is for!

"Tents?" she asked, perking back up almost immediately. "Parties on the beach? Okay, this might work out after all, because daddy got me the coolest tent (http://www.amanresorts.com/jpgs/i-khas_30.jpg) ever and he'll send it out if I ask."

"It might not be tents. I'm quite hoping it's not tents actually," Elizabeth grimaced slightly. Tents bought back bad memories of touring war zones. "But, yeah. Definitely outdoor parties. Or there's Caritas in town. That's pretty popular."

Elizabeth nodded. "I thought that too; it's actually a karaoke bar of all places," she said. "I guess it must mean something to the owner. Presumably not related to the charity of the same name."

She squared her shoulders, "Well, then. I'll have to pop in there and see what the landscape looks like. There's no Greek Row, so we'll just have to make do. Won't we Bruiser?"

"We almost had fraternity and sorority type clubs," Elizabeth said, frowning slightly. "I don't know what happened to those plans."

"Well, high school isn't really the place for a full on Greek system, but something modeled on it would be so much fun. I wonder who I could tak to about that. Hmmm..."

"I'd suggest the vice-principal," Elizabeth said. "He seems to be up for most things."
